Predict the wingnuttery to come

Har! Imagine taking back a video of Obama’s inaugaraton to show the Founders! That little bitch Al Hamilton wouldn’t know whether to shit or go blind!

How long before the wingnuts start question the timing of Grandmother Dunham’s passing as means to get sympathy votes?

Oh wait, they’ve been doing it all along. Slime.

I guess it’s not surprising that people who think the country should apparently be run according to the dictates of a band of nomadic shepherds three millennia ago should also think that a bunch of rich elites from 200 years ago should hold absolute sway as well.

My pleasure. I am a big city bubblehead and would probably get hives if I picked up a handgun (though I love traditional archery). Nevertheless, I think gun control should be a complete non-issue, especially in this election cycle. Since guns are not and probably never will be an important part of my life, I can easily hold my nose and continue to pull the lever on the left side even though I feel it is in the wrong on this issue in a major way.

I don’t viscerally understand how people could feel differently because I have a hard time putting myself in someone’s shoes for whom gun ownership is as important as other issues that I care about. But I expect people passionate about guns to feel the same way about the crazy things I care about. It takes all kinds.

Susan Sontag. Average Leftie.

She also said that in 1967. Only four years before, we have Wallace:

How’s he looking as a typical example of someone on the right? Or better yet, Asa Carter?

Could be worse. The Stormfronters were saying he was going to Hawaii to silence the last living person who could swear he was really born in Kenya.

The story is about what he said and he clearly stated he would bankrupt coal producing plants. The fact that you’re just now hearing about it is directly related to a newspaper who neglected to write about it. The fact stands that he said what he said. Bankrupting a whole industry is BIG NEWS. Raising the price of electricity is BIG NEWS. The coal states are just now being made aware of it so don’t hand me a bunch of crap that it was available the whole time like that somehow negates the actual message. It’s no small journalistic lapse that was not reported on.

These people are insane. They’re five fucking years old!!! What a bunch of assholes. Which is yet one more reason to vote YES on Prop 8 here in SF.

It seems like the reverse position would be better supported. If you didn’t have crazy crap like Prop 8, people wouldn’t feel the need to recruit children to the cause.

Too late, she died today.

I cannot reply to you in the manner that first comes to mind in this forum. But it’s obvious that you did not read the linked article. The interview was never hidden…it’s been up on the SF Chron’s website for months. That McCain is dragging this out now, despite the fact that it happened MONTHS ago and hasn’t been mentioned by them, also despite the fact that McCain and Obama’s energy plans are pretty much identical on coal, is a sign of the desperation that the McCain camp is feeling right now. In 30-odd hours we’re going to have a new president of the United States, and it’s NOT going to be McCain. And that is entirely McCain’s own fault.

The lies and insinuations and absolute BULLSHIT that the Republicans have been flinging desperately for the last several months is just sad. You folks need to step back and consider what you’ve become. And maybe then you can stop the slide down the mudhole.

The fuck? No, it isn’t. This is one person using materials for her class that were neither designed for them nor intended to be used by them, and shouldn’t have been used there. I’m in favor of gay rights, but kindergarten students are simply not going to understand the issue. This is not a reason to vote for or against anything.

In terms of their theory, that’s not “too late,” that’s “just in time.” That poison he injected into her IV drip must have taken a few days to work.

As a leftie, NDP voting dirty hippie, I can assure you that I frequently find fault with the Canadian Human Rights Commission. In particular, I think the process leans a bit too far to one side, in that the complaintant has a bit too much scope, and there is potential here for abuse.

So you can take your big, wide brush and … not use it.

If you need to ask, you’re obviously a nut.

Actually, if the judges wild have let the vote stand a few years ago 961%), we wouldn’t be here. It reminds me of a sign I saw back in Arkansas about 20 years ago: “Evangelical Camp. Openings: ages 6-12”. I found it disgusting and offensive then coming from the religious right, I find it disgusting and offensive coming from the social wrong.

Oh, and there were the loving San Franciscan parents who painted their little children white during one of the usual anti-war, anti-Bush protests, as well.

Fuck them the “adults” that supposedly know better.

Sure it is. I’m for full gay rights, as well, minus the “marriage” label. But if Prop 8 is defeated you’ll see more of this type of nonsense. Some of it rogue, like this. And some sanctioned by the schools. Nope, what started out as a gay rights issue—hospital visitation, inheritance, medical benefits, etc.—has turned into a pure ideological battle they want to now shove down the throats of even little kids. It’s indoctrination at any expense. I’m with them on the rights issues, but beyond that they can all go to hell.

So I’m confused. Since you claim to be for gay rights but not gay marriage I can only assume you are also for straight rights but not straight marriage?

I’ll respond to this and then leave it, as it’s turning into a hijack. Feel free to do a search for my opinions on this if you’d like.

I’m for gays having all the rights heteros do, including those coming from a legally sanctioned union. As long as they insist on calling it “marriage”, they lose my support.
