Nothing particularly awful will happen, but that won’t stop people from continuing to predict gloom and doom.
[QUOTE=Evil Captor]
There will be an economic recession in the US but this one will be unusual because it will hurt the wealthy much more than it hurts the middle class and the poor, whose incomes have not risen so they have been “adjusting” all along. This time the wealthy will have to adjust. This will have conservatives suddenly screaming in panic about the unbearably horrible economic collapse that is going on. Middle class types may well buy their twaddle, while wondering why things do not seem so awful to them.

OK, so that’s the **best-**case scenario . . .
I’m getting the letter . . . “R”.
Anybody?
R?
Could me a man…or maybe a small pet.
Also, earthquakes.
Unseasonable weather.
A major politician will make an enormous open mike gaffe. Later it will turn out not to be so important.

An extremely pessemistic outlook-but hard to ignore. I fthe American housing stock loses its value, so go the banks. If this happens, this decade will be worse than the 1930’s!
Recession
President-elect Obama
Oil prices stay high - people keep buying SUVs anyway though not quite as many
Iraq not as deadly as 2007, but is still bad as violence begins to increase again
Housing prices stay weak, but we are nowhere near the end of suburbia
The dollar begins to recover
Doping and judging controversies at the Olympics
Bringing back an old thread so we can see how accurate we all were.
Well Oil prices didn’t stay high thank Og
President Elect Obama - Oh Yeah!!!
I like reading some of the things people were thinking. {{chuckle}}
Here’s a good chuckle of my own from a year ago! LOL
It’s amazing how many things seemed so inevitable, just one year ago . . . and how wrong they were.
Sadly, the ones forecasting economic disaster were pretty on target, but happily, not the ones forecasting ever-rising gas prices.
Phlosphr, so how’d the treehouse go?
Gotta say, reading this thread- this is the only prediction I do not know the conclusion to, and I’m fairly curious. So…treehouse?
