But the protests - very few of which got violent - were not about an election. This is a different issue, and one side’s leader has called for crime and violence from time to time, which the other’s has not.

I won’t be surprised if the race hasn’t been called by midnight or if Trump is still in it with a fighting chance, but I think as we get closer to midnight, the walls will gradually be closing in in terms of electoral math. We might end up going to bed with Biden near victory but not quite clinching it.
If there’s any drama it’s how Trump’s campaign and administration will behave over the next 24-48 hours - and perhaps between now and January.
