Pregnant/Expecting/New Parent Dopers: How are things going?

It’s been a while since we all ‘got together’ to gab about the babies, both upcoming and recently arrived.

So, how ya doin’?
I’ll start.

The baby and I just passed the half-way mark last week (assuming full gestation), and we’re both doing really well. My body seems to have been made for pregnancy/childbirth, and for that I am eternally grateful. I need a nap every morning and some evenings, and going up stairs is a freakin’ chore lately, but mostly it’s been cake.

We had the ultrasound two days ago. It’s a girl (yay!), which my son and I were both hoping for. (My husband doesn’t care either way.) It was so cool to see her skull-face and watch her pump her fist like she was rocking out. That’s my kid.

She’s started moving around a lot, mostly in the evenings. To, me, that’s the coolest part of pregnancy. Every once in a while she’ll kick me in an incredibly uncomfortable spot and make me yelp. Little punk.

My husband and I had picked out a girl name (Calliope) last week, and it’s a relief to not have to come up with a boy name, since there’s very little we agree on and nothing was sounding right to either of us.

Okay, now it’s your turn…
