Prejudices, stereotypes, and dreams – a far-too-serious MMP

I think you need to write a polite yes assertive e-mail to said lazy ass, essentially saying what you said above but with fewer capital letters, with CC to your commander – and his!

y’know - they do have these things called airplanes that can transport a body across oceans . . .

{{Taters}} This is the place to come and vent. We’ve all been there before and definitely understand.

We managed to make a very good and healthy 15-minute meal last night. I didn’t get home until 6:05, and KT had a 6:30 meeting. Fortunately, I’d taken some Trader Joe’s marinated Mahi Mahi out of the freezer for fish tacos. KT pan seared that. I chopped cabbage for a salad-type thing to go on top with some pre-chopped carrots (so sue me, I buy pre-chopped carrots… if it can help me make dinner in 15, I’m all for it), cilantro, a little mayo, some yogurt, garlic powder, and salt and pepper. And we took turns tending the corn tortillas as they heated up in a dry frying pan. KT sliced an avocado. Dinner was on the table at 6:23. Not bad if I do say so myself. And the TJ’s marinated fish was excellent.

Now to see if I can make that happen again tonight…

Feel free to vent, Taters. Sometimes that’s the only way to survive.

Hugs to everyone else who’s frustrated.

SO is a boy? Who knew?!

It’s really fun to look at people’s pictures, isn’t it?

Hugs for Dotty. Hope you can get home for the additional tests very soon so that you can get past the whole mess.

That sounds like a big ol’ hassle, LiLi. But maybe it will keep his glucose stable.

Sounds like a yummy dinner, taxi. Can I have some too???

Should go make something dinner-like. I’m thinking it might just be some potatoes and carrots. Had a big omelet for lunch; need to balance it out.

In the meantime, I’m knitting (one of the things I do to manage stress).

Back later…

Spuds, friends help friends. Real friends help you hide the bodies.

I wish to go on record that I do not like working 10+ hour days. I got to the office about 5:10 and didn’t get out till nearly 3:30. And I was pretty much pushing it all day. I’s tahred!! We went to Dead Lobster for supper and now I know why we don’t go there. It was really meh, and not at all worth the $70 it cost us. I was in a mood for seafood. I wish I’d had some… :frowning:

Hugs to everyone. I didn’t retain enough to make coherent comments. But I do remember that **kopek **is the only one who truly loves me.

I’m going to read my comics and chill. And go to bed early. And hope that the freezing rain we’re promised tonight will mean a late start tomorrow. That would rawk!!!

Are you saying that you’re one of my real friends?

I’m still majorly pissed, but am over my insane rage. Fortunately, I kept the rage all on screen and inside my head.

Took me all afternoon to run up that guy’s data, and I still have to make some minor adjustments before I send it off. I usually clean it up really pretty, but not this time. I don’t have time.

My tummy is on FAHR! I’m letting this crap get to me too much.

I thought that I had posted earlier, but I must not have finished it.

Today I finally went to the bank to talk about my overdraft fees. Suffice it to say that I might as well have been talking to a wall. And, I’ve only got 28 more days to come up with the cash or else it will go on my credit report and some other report that goes to all banks. A good time was had by all.

So, anyways, other than the banking bullshit the day didn’t turn out too bad. Now I’m on my way find an evening snack. I’m thinking Orville’s 100 calorie popcorn and some Bailey’s.

over on fb, MBG took a quiz wherein one question was whether or not rigs would eat a bug - she said it depends on the bug so I suggested this one

Pie, overdraft fees are the driving force behind me dumping my bank in Mayberry in favor of my old credit union from my Virginia days.

I have knitting news to report: I finished the second of five baby blankets. It has a nice diamond pattern in a lovely lavender color.

There are no more fish tacos left, gt, but there’s plenty of tonight’s Asian noodles. They’re not vegetarian 'cause I used some beef broth in the sauce, but otherwise there’s no meat in the noodles, just bell pepper, carrots, snow peas, onions, savoy cabbage, and edamames in a peanut sauce. They’re yummy. And healthy.

Sorry for the sucky work days, mmmmmmmmmmms, Taters, and FCM. I was with you there last week and the week before. Now it’s just busy, not bad. But man, is it busy! But at least other than last night, I have been getting out at 5 so not bad. Hope it gets better for everyone else too!

Mmmm, noodles sound good, taxi. Recipe? Very nice blanket, by the way. Did you design that one, too?

Glad things have gotten better, Taters.

Heh…I was betting rigs would eat a bug. But not that one. Ewwww.

Back later.

GT

That bug was completely disgusting.

Ok, so I just finsihed watching Shrek. What can I say, Donkey cracks me up! Now I think I’m going to head off to bed because my on again, off again headache is here.

I wouldn’t say they’ve gotten better, gt.

I just managed to smother the coals a little.

Gah, summer cannot get here soon enough. I’m taking two weeks of leave in August and I plan to take another week in September.

I feel for you sweetie! I went through something very similar when I came home from Australia with HRH. Her anti-convulsant meds were a “controlled substance/narcotic”, and the population here is so small that none of the regular pharmacies stocked Phenobarb in a children’s syrup. So we ended up going to see her regular paediatrician for check-ups and then having to once a month go to the military hospital to see an entirely different doctor just to get a “controlled substance” prescription which had to be mixed in the hospital’s pharmacy, just to get something that is readily available (on prescription, of course) in a commercial syrup anywhere else in the world!

{{{Taters}}}

Taters, hope you’re feeling a bit calmer today. Can’t you just bounce that work onto someone else? Or tell the guy he’s on the list and you’ll get to him when the really important stuff is done?

I have some batches of marks to enter today, and I need to double-check the ones I did yesterday because I seem to have done something wrong somewhere. There are two people’s marks that I seem to have mixed up and now that has me worried that I’ve got some other stuff wrong…better safe than sorry, right?

We went out for beerverages last night, there were only three of us because our friend’s g/f was working late yesterday and had an early start today so she didn’t want a late night in the pub. It was a fairly sedate night out really, considering!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN It’s a rainy, stormy day out. Woo and hoo.

Guess I should forage for some brekkie and get purtified for irk. Ick!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I look like I spent a night out at the pub last night. I’m whiter than a ghost. Not sure what that’s about.

Not much else going on here yet, though.

Morning all, up and caffeinating … it’s Thursday!

No bad weather here just yet; it is supposed to come in tonight, though, and be light snow/sleet/freezing rain/rain! Tomorrow should be a doozie. But at least it will be Firday, right?

{{{{{{Taters}}}}}}}; I hope today will be better for you. Good thoughts and prayers winging your way, Dotty; thank goodness that the doctor in Australia can do what he/she is going to do.

Well, it appears my caffeine intake is only partial … I can’t recall anything else! LOL Happy Thursday all…and Rosie’s sig to all others!
