Are all those Democrats that wanted Biden to back out going to support Harris? What have we heard so far?

I don’t understand the talk about someone besides Harris getting the nomination. It can’t be anyone but Harris. As Biden’s running mate she gets his campaign cash, right? If the Democrats nominate someone else don’t they basically start from scratch in the fundraising department?
I’m hearing unanimous support. Bill and Hillary Clinton just put out a statement to that effect.
Never underestimate the ego of a politician. Even if they know they have no chance of winning, they will run just for the publicity, their Party and their country be damned.
Given the massive unpopularity of Trump among the Democratic voting base (an understatement,) you could nominate any average man/woman as the (D) nominee and he or she could raise many millions of dollars overnight.
But yes, it helps to have direct access to Biden’s war chest, so Harris is still overwhelmingly like to get the nom.
When he does, he’ll barely mention Biden and instead launch an all-caps attack on Harris.
He might even speak of Biden sympathetically, as a fellow-victim (of The Elites and of That Awful Woman Harris). (Zounds, he doesn’t even have a nickname for her yet!)

I’m seeing no one knew (maybe a very select few) of Biden’s decision until minutes before he announced it. His staff was still making donor calls today for him. (Nick Koenig, an Idaho graduate student, said a campaign staffer called at 1:12 p.m., asking: “Can Biden count on you?’” Koening added: “It’s absolutely bonkers.")
I think Biden had made up his mind “within the last 48 hours”.

I kept telling my brother that of course Biden would insist he’s still running until the very minute he says otherwise; you keep bluffing up until the second you fold.
A few days ago, I asked a hypothetical question to a group of conservatives on a popular message board type platform. The question was, if you dislike Trump and aren’t voting for Biden because of his age, would you support Harris for president? The answer was a resounding and unanimous “No.”
We get it. She’s black. And a woman.
Conventions used to be open and the masses did not know who was going to come out victorious.
Now we’re in the social media age. There is plenty of time for the dems, anti trump, youth vote, double haters and undecides to coalesce around the Harris for President ticket.
I don’t think it’s that. It’s because she’s a liberal and a Democrat. Gavin Newsom is a white man and they wouldn’t vote for him either.
Imagine if you asked a group of liberals, “Would you vote Republican if Trump dropped out and was replaced by a normal, young, average Republican?” They’d say no because they want a liberal Democrat to vote for.
