President Biden Dropping Out of Race

Does that mean all his votes are granted in some established process or does she have to duke it out?

Under the current DNC rules, his delegates are released and may vote for whomever they wish among those candidates who are placed into nomination at the convention. A candidate must obtain 300 signatures from delegates (with no more than 50 coming from any one state) to be placed into nomination.

Since Biden did not use the speech I wrote for him to step down, I am making another suggestion for the Convention. I assume there will be a Biden montage followed by a speech by him. I suggest calling up Lin Manuel Miranda and Chris Jackson and having them tweak One Last Time from Hamilton. Maybe incorporate some of Biden’s yet to come speech to the nation. There will not be a dry eye in the house.

Again, I know nothing of politics or entertainment; just what I want to see.

Eewe! :scream:

Oh crap, did I do it twice accidentally? Sorry, typing from phone!

Non, c’est moi.

That won’t do much to dismiss the “Hollywood Liberals” crap from the right. Not that I care what they think.

:musical_note:They say
Joe Biden is ending his run and is stepping away

Is that true?
I wasn’t aware that was something a person could do… :notes:

The fact remains: Biden is not senile, does not go off on nonsensical tangenrs, does not create “new” words or mumble through ones he can’t remember, he can drink a bottle of water with one hand.

I will vote fore and support Harris. If sh wins she’ll be a fine President. I think the Dems may have shot temselves in the foot with the media urging them along. I think the way they’ve treated one of the most successful Presidents of the modern day is freaking shameful. Good on Whitmer, my Governor for not joining in with the buzzards. I hope to goodness Harris wins.

So, will that second debate happen now? I think Harris, even on an off day, would shred Trump. Somehow, I think the Republicans will weasle out of it, take their one point, and call it a day.

CBS reports Trump won’t commit to debating Harris because he doesn’t know if she’ll be the nominee. He alkso says the debate against whoever should be moved to Fox News instead of ABC.

TL;DR No, there won’t be a second debate.

Why? Assuming the Democratic Party coalesces around Harris, who would have standing to sue? Not who would do it to stir up trouble; who would have legal standing?

Anyone who donated to the Biden for President campaign committee would presumably have standing. I wouldn’t be surprised if some Republican lawyers donated five bucks just so they could have standing in this eventuality.

So the campaign warchest refunds the five bucks and moves to dismiss the suit as frivolous.

She should go hard after ever dirty goddanmed thing he’s done, but even a year wouldn’t be long enough for all of THAT.

Where did you see that Biden dropped out because of, “mental issues”? Was it in one of the links? 'Cause if it was I missed it. Cite?

I certainly wouldn’t count on this Supreme Court to dismiss a conservative case on the basis of dubious standing.

But would they get the case in time to work mischief?

The Biden/Harris campaign fund should immediately offer to refund any donors who request it. The recipients of those refunds (like donors) would, of course, be in the public record. Also, deep liberal pockets should pledge to donate double what is refunded to a Democratic PAC.

I did not watch the Republican convention, but I am sure they spent a fair amount of powder attacking Biden. The timing of this announcement is good in that respect, in that they weren’t attacking Harris. Also, it has pretty much snuffed-out any post-convention news coverage for Republicans this week, including the assassination attempt. This has to be bothering Trump. I likey.
