President Joe Biden and the runup to the 2024 election

I hadn’t noticed. And I certainly don’t think the vast majority of wobbly or undecided voters have either, unless listening to a pundit make an opinion about it.

.mistaken post.

That’s the point. We didn’t notice Biden. Biden and his team let Trump dominate the tone of the campaign for a whole year. We didn’t notice Biden because he wasn’t doing press conferences, campaign rallies, and things like that. They ceded that ground and the air space to Trump and the Trump favoring press. There’s still plenty of time to recover, but I think the strategy of doing so, if that’s what it was, was a bad one.

Others have responded in ways I agree with but to the public appearances angle I will add YES. Get out in public and do things that allow him to engage with people, show his wit and project that while he is in fact old he is strong.

This is one of the things many independents are saying in interviews about DJT - they like him because he projects strength. You and I may see that this is a stupid reason to vote for the idiot but Biden should be doing all he can to show that he is mentally and physically strong for an old guy. More so than his opponent.

Campaign rallies in 2023?! Trump was indeed doing that, but wasn’t he widely mocked for it?

And how good would a sitting president look stumping all over instead of, say, fighting inflation or dealing with wars involving nuclear superpowers?

You may be right, but I don’t find the conclusion as stunningly obvious as you seem to, unless the administration is just dumb (or else, god forbid, he really IS senile, which a deliberate shunning of the spotlight would imply).

Minor curiosity-Biden did not win American Samoa. Jason Palmer did instead, even though he lives in Baltimore. He looks like an actor dressed up for SNL to me.

Where are the mainstream media critics attacking CNN for reporting something trivial that makes Joe Biden look bad?

This is partly the fault of Democratic Party.

American Samoa gets 6 delegates for 91 voters - about 15 per voter, and 1 for each 7,500 residents.

Pennsylvania gets 185 delegates for roughly a million votes – maybe 5,400 per voter, and 1 for each 70,000 residents.

Talk about gerrymandering.

Different formulas can be defended, but not this one. If AS had a fractional delegate, it wouldn’t be grouped with the somewhat more significant loss the other guy experienced in Vermont.

Maybe the Biden campaign, instead of trying to portray strength and coolness, should just admit that he’s old? “Biden: America’s Elder.” Then they could slide straight into his strengths of experience, accomplishments. “Joe knows how to govern — he’s been doing it for 50 years.”

He is old and it is a strength. Why pretend?

Maybe also more covertly signal that succession would go smoothly in the event of need.

That all makes sense to me.

Exactly what I think as well.

I had also thought of Reagan’s famed quip. Might work.

Just to put this a little in perspective, Palmer beat Biden 51 to 40. That wasn’t 51% to 40% it was 51 votes to 40 votes.

This could be one guy who happens to have a personal connection to Palmer convincing 51 or his friends and acquaintances to vote for him. In other words, an interesting anecdote but not actually representative of anything substantial.

Yabbut that’s 56%!

That’s a sign, I tells ya! A sign of what, I have no clue

Channeling my inner MAGAT,
‘Just to put this in correct perspective why is Samoa, a foreign and unAmerican country, allowed to vote in our elections? Just another example of how the DemonRats cheat at elections!’

It’s the day for dropping out – Dean Phillips has ended his bid for the Democratic nomination.

Now the Phillips/Haley ticket can start gaining steam!

It’d be hilarious if they joined up for a public debate tour, touted as “This is what the Presidential race could have sounded like!” I’m sure it’d be a big hit on the college circuit.

Jason Palmer is still in the running.

Fine, we’ll put him in the gimp suit, then.
