Out of interest, was the fuel injection which featured on the 1963 Corvette the Bosch K-Jetronic (Konstant) fuel injection system? I understand that system goes all the way back to the WW2 Messerschmidt ME109’s.
Volvo 1800
Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia
Both are arguably Italian designs, having been designed by the Italian design firm Ghia.
1955 Ford Thunderbird. Case closed!
BBF and Rick, you’re both very close, but it’s the Ferrari 250 LM.
32 were built. I just want to see one of them, in person, before I die.
I love the Model T Ford. I seem to be the only one.
The nice thing about the '63 Vette split-window: You could set your lunch back their and it would be cooked by noon.
I don’t like the back end of the Ferrari 250LM. The back of the cockpit has proportions that are wrong for the vehicle, and the rear fenders are raised too high. IMO.
I’m with scr4 with the Volvo 1800, and it’s a car you do get to see on the road.
As for ‘dream cars’ the Mecedes Gull-Wing

Ladies and gentlemen, the Chevrolet Monte Carlo
I thought immediately of the XKE, but in reading this thread I am reminded of all those majorly cool Ferraris and Aston Martins of years past. And then there’s the Volvo 1800. Just to be contrarian, I might stick with the Volvo, but I think that first reactions should be treated with some respect in cases like this, so, my final vote is the XKE.
You’re kidding, right, Casey1505?
Well, take the silly racing flag graphics off the door, but otherwise, no, I am serious. Black Monte Carlos are sharp!
Nope. It’s a Delahaye 135 with body by Figoni & Falaschi. I could only find a painting of the most beautiful one. If you do a Google search on Delahaye 135 you will see nice blue one, but this one looks better IMHO.
Post-war I think the Lamborghini Miura is it
Boo Boo Foo-
The Ferrari 250 GT has a 3.0 liter engine. For many Ferraris, the number is the displacement of each cylinder; 250CCs X 12=3.0L
For some other Ferraris, the first number is the displacement in liters. The next number(s) is the amount of cylinders; BB512=%Liters/12cylinders. 308=3.0Liters/8cylinders.

Any VW Microbus gives me a stirrin’ in my loins.
I love the Ford GT40.
The McLaren-Mercedes SLR is a vision though
Casey1505, you were better off letting people think you were kidding! Seriously, if I wanted to make an argument that American designers have lost their way, Exhibit A would be the new Monte Carlo. Or maybe the 96 Ford Taurus, man that thing was ugly!
The new Ford GT is dead sexy though and shows there is still some hope for the Americans.
The Viper GTS is gorgeous as well.
But I think my favorite is still the 93-95 Mazda RX-7.
The 1962 Studebaker GT Hawk (yeah, I know I’m biased)
To see some other beautiful cars go to the index. I’m sure that you will find cars that you’ve never heard of, let alone seen.
In my humble opinion, the Monte Carlo is a good looking car. In your humble opinion, it is not. We can agree to disagree, that’s cool. No hurt feelings.
I’m willing to accept that tastes differ, and that what I may think is ugly, another person thinks is hot (my Exhibit A would be Paris Hilton, but that’s another thread )
Sorry to start a mini-pile-on here, Casey1505, that wasn’t my intention. I will grant that the Monte Carlo has a certain, muscularity, or something, and it shrieks “American Made!”, but it doesn’t do it for me.
Carry on.
I didn’t think you were, Dx2, just didn’t want people thinking I had lost my mind (some of my posts would argue otherwise, but I digress…). It’s all good.
