I nominate the BMW 507. I didn’t even these beauties existed until a few minutes ago!
Indeed Jeff, the 507 is a very pretty car. And history buffs will also be aware that it was a car with it’s lovely little alloy V8 which almost managed to send the BMW company bankrupt. They lost a lot of money on that car apparently.
My understanding is that BMW was in such dire straights by the early 1960’s that the only car they could afford to make anymore was the famous little 2002. And everything was riding on that one little car as the company’s life line.
But it worked. The 2002 sold like hot cakes and by the late 60’s BMW was releasing the 3.0 CS Coupe and the 3.0iL Saloon and they were able to break through to the other side.

I can’t believe I skipped the 550 Spyder. Some of the cleanest, most elegant lines I’ve ever seen on a car.
