Anchorage: $3.48 this morning
$1.15 a litre this morning.
Yesterday, the BP on the Missouri side of State Line Road was $3.16 for 87 octane. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to stop in time, and they raised the prices last night, so I had to fill up this morning with 20 gallons at $3.25 - not quite $70 of gas that will probably last a week. It’s a little higher on the Kansas side - $3.29 at the Phillips 66 near my house.
1US gal = 3.78541 L
US$ 1 = GB£0.51
£1.1 / L = $8.16 / USgal
FWIW it is $2.41 / USgal down here. But then the market price for crude is about $45 / bbl
The US gallon is 3.8 litres; the Imperial gallon is 4.5.
But Blue Mood’s price seems about right. The UK pound is 2 Canadian dollars, roughly; therefore a price of UKP 1.10/litre would be approximately double a price of CAD 1.15 / litre. And CAD 1.15/litre is, as mentioned before, USD 4.29 / US gallon.
Edit: What NaturalBlondChap said, only derived a different way.
Or $2 pounds. :smack:
On preview: No more working at work. Need more posting.
Portland, OR, best price I’ve seen in town is 3.33 at an Arco station but they charge .45 to use a card, or the same at the Flying J truckstop in Troutdale but I’d have to drive twenty miles to fill up there which kinda negates the savings. I paid 3.43 last time I filled up. The ironic thing is that Oregon is one of the last states that doesn’t allow self serve but we still pay about .10/gallon average LESS than our neighbors over the Columbia in Vancouver WA, where they have to pump their own. Is that counterintuitive or what?
We just got back from a trip to England. I had to fill the rental car before returning it. I was encouraged with the mileage I had been getting (40 mpg). Paying for the fillup was another thing. It took £62 to fill. Usually we fill our minivan for ~C$60, so paying C$135 was a bit of a sting.
We may get rail passes next time we go over…
Oddly enough the market price for gasoline in Europe is cheaper than that in the US. The spot price for gasoline delivered at ARA (Amsterdam, Rotterdam) is running at about 2.24 a USgal. Over in New York it is $2.64 and West coast is up at $3. So in the UK you are not paying so much for the gasoline, but quite a bit extra in taxes to keep the royal family in bling.
I read that the royal family is a net profit, due to the revenues from additional tourism inspired by them. So you can’t blame gas taxes on them.
$3.27 per gallon along Highway 21 in Northern Virginia. In the suburbs of D.C. it’s much higher, along the lines of $3.50.
New Jersey, USA. 3.07 and they pumped it for me.
They pumped my gas, you pervs.
In Central Kentucky it is around $3.45 at the station I noticed yesterday. You could probably shop around a find it a few pennies above or below.
Gah!
$3.53 in this part of West Michigan.
It all went up here. The place I mentioned earlier was 3.35 today and the normal place I go is 3.39
3.41 a gallon in Vegas.
3.79/gallon, north Los Angeles county. That’s for 87.
It costs an Old Hickory to fill up the bike, now. Premium is over $4.
I’m in that area quite a bit. You’ll have to come to the next GettysDope. I’ll buy you a beer then.
Yes, but they hold a monopoly in the pomp and circumstance trade in the UK and have strong government ties, it´s a conspiracy I tell ya.
$3.37 yesterday, at the QuikTrip down the street, which is one of the cheaper places in the Bi-State area. And the shocker is, it’s usually 20-30¢ less than the national average in these parts.
