Price watch (gas)

3.96 on my last fillup leaving Vegas. I’m telling you guys. Be ready for 4. 5 to 5. by the end of summer.

$4.21 here in the glorius Seattle 'burbs. Unreal.

Still $1.299/L here…

I’m already revolted.

Here in the Cleveland burbs the prices are just under or over $4 in the last couple of days.

Everywhere here is $4.15 (at least) right now. Yesterday I was cleaning out some stuff in my apartment and found a receipt from when I filled up last August (2007) for $2.99.

$3.93 for regular here in the burbs of Baltimore.

Yeesh!

My station is down (replacing the ancient pumps), but there are two stations within 1/2 mile charging $4.29 for regular. Th LEAST is $4.15, the MOST is $4.34. Diesel is still at $5.29. This is Daly City (basically San Francisco), CA.

Leominster, MA: regualr at $3.93/gallon. Expect to break $4.00 Tuesday. Where will this end? Crude has dropped below $130/bbl, demand is down-WTF?

$3.94/gal this morning. For those of you keeping track, that’s up another $0.13 in a week, and overall it’s up $0.76/gal since 4/15. At this rate (75 cents in a month & a half), we should see $5.00/gal by the end of July.

I’m actually starting to think we can’t afford two cars. Mine is financed @ $200/mo. but I’ve had a couple of fender benders and a couple more moving violations, so it’s costing me $2500/year to insure it. The other one is a 2001 Ford Taurus that we own and the insurance is $600/yr. If I get rid of the Honda, my automobile expenses drop $400/month. Of course, if my wife has to drive me to work and pick me up every day, and gas costs $5.00/gal. that’s $150/wk for fuel, or $650/month. If I keep the car, my monthly fuel cost + the aforementioned automobile expenses equate to about $725/month. So getting rid of the second car would “save” me $75/month, but would be a right pain in the ass (we’ve tried this before).

Fucked either way.

Bah.

$4.279 as of the 31st.

San Diego: $4.45 this morning.

At “Thrifty.”

$3.98 for a couple of days now. After nothing but increases since forever, it has now dropped 11 cents from the local peak, even though the national average is still climbing.

So, my wife and I switched cars for a couple days and I’ve got the Honda back this morning with an empty gas tank. :frowning: Back-to-back fill-ups at almost $4/gal. I’m back at my regular station and this morning I paid $3.92/gal.

$110 on gas in 24 hours.

WUH-wuh-wha.

Seen at the weekend £1.17/L which I think works out at $8.85/G, diesel is about 10% more. The price seems to be rising two or three pence a week. Thank frak I commute by bike.

On another (very Conservative) message board there’s a thread about the high price of gas. I found this post amusing:

I got a CNN Breaking News email this morning saying that AAA is reporting a national average over $4.00/gal. for the first time ever. The last time I drove by my regular station they were still at $3.92/gal. but we’ll see tomorrow.

The last time I noticed, my local place was $4.379/gallon. This county has the highest gas prices in the state, apparently due to our proximity to Canada.

That’s fucked up. Have people started stealing gas there? I was just a kid in the 70’s but I remember my parents having to buy locking gas caps because their tanks had been siphoned. I wonder if/when that will start up again around here. I’ve got a little door over the gas filler that I need to pop open from inside the car, but that thing would take only a small bit of effort to pop open with a crowbar.

Checking in again from the east San Gabriel Valley, L.A. county:
$4.35 to $4.37 or more around here for the lowest priced gas.

At the station at which I work, $4.379 for 87, $4.999 for Diesel. Prices in the area range from $4.33 to $4.45 for regular, and from $4.99 to $5.29 for Diesel.
