I know this inane question could be a lot better answered if I could actually link to the commercial but for some reason I’m having a hard time finding it. Which is weird since it’s on 500 times a day, but hopefully that means you’re familiar with it.
I’m referring to the one for Chase Quickdeposit where the mother and daughter are at the zoo and mom is demonstrating how she can take a picture of a check with her phone and it gets instantly transmitted to the bank. Mom then remarks “the lion’s out” and is about to take a picture of Leo when the little girl, panic stricken, says “Mom, no!”
My (stupid) question is, is the little girl worried about the lion or the people at the bank? On the one hand, it doesn’t seem very plausible that a child that young would have the welfare of strangers at a financial institution on her mind. On the other, he’s a lion for crying out loud-the king of the jungle- so *he *shouldn’t be in any danger. When she visualizes him being transported to the bank, patrons are shrinking away in fear yet all Mr. Lion does is saunter up to the teller counter as if waiting to make a deposit.
Yes, I know I’m overthinking it but every time I see it, and that is many, I can’t quite decide why the director made the choices he did.
