I recently started to get a problem with IE opening new windows on a webpage. Whenever I click on something that normally opens a new window it opens a new window, but it doesen’t go anywhere. It acts like it is loading something, but it doesen’t show the address or actually ever does anything. It so far mostly does the same thing to popup adds except for one that displayed normally and was that type that don’t show anything except the top blue bar and the html. I have absolutely no idea what caused it.
I found out how to fix it kind of. I just hit stop while it is loading and then hit refresh. Doing that also allows you to see geocities links:)

I had this same problem about a week ago. Go to Control panel; Add/Remove programs; highlight Microsoft Internet Explorer; click Add/Remove. You will get a pop up menu choose Repair Internet Explorer. That should fix your problem.
