I switch users so my granny can use her user on the pc, and it starts a 30 sec. countdown, saying it can’t load b/c a file won’t load into the registry cause it’s not in registry format. As long as you wait the 30 sec., it works ok. How do I find this file and fix it?
Also, opera won’t work on her desktop, just explorer, which I don’t want.
Please give us the exact error messages including file names.
What OS are you running?
Does this error happen under your user name or hers? What happens if you reboot the computer and log in to her user account first?
As the previous poster mentioned, an exact error message would help greatly.
It’s when I switch to my granny’s user desktop that it has the problem-
Windows cannot load the user’s profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system.
DETAIL - The system has attempted to load or restore a file into the registry, but the specified file is not in a registry file format.
Then after the 30 second countdown, it’s okay.
Opera does work now, no problem.
Sounds like Granny doesn’t have the rights to create a profile in Documents and Settings. Can you see what the permissions are on her profile folder?
