I was posting to the Cool toys thread; and as I clicked Submit, SDMB had a database error. When it finally came back up, I went back to the thread. My reply did not post, so I re-posted it. It was then that I noticed that the thread had been moved to MPSIMS. Only I still see it in CS and not MPSIMS. I tried to reply with a quote, and the quoted text did not appear in the box.
I have been getting notifications for posts that do not show up in the thread, seeing posts in the thread that do not appear when I try to reply to them / preview, seeing posts in my list of subscriptions that don’t show up in the thread, etc. Just started this morning. No change in my computer or network configuration. Anyone else experiencing something similar?
Unix time starts at 00:00 Jan 1, 1970. Unknown time values often default to 1969 so if you see a random date like that it almost always means a corrupted or empty time field.
While you’re thinking about resetting the board, just another little board issue reminder:
TubaDiva, you mentioned a long time ago (about a year) that if someone wants to e-mail you with SDMB issues, it should go to your straightdope(dot)com address, not your e-mail address at aol(dot)com. At the time, I pointed out that your aol address still appears on the Straight Dope front page.
It still does. Here’s a snippet of the text you can search for to find it:
