Here’s the deal. The past few days, I’ll respond to a post, hit the submit button. My computer will commence trying to connect and it will eventually (after a few minutes) come up with a message that it’s unable to establish a connection with the server. However, when I open up a new window on Explorer and go to the SDMB and look up the thread I had just posted to in the forum menu, it will still list the last poster as the person who had posted just prior to me (unless someone posted just after me, in which case they show up as last poster which is normal and proper). However, the thing is that if you open the thread and scroll to the bottom my reply to the thread will actually show up at the bottom of the thread for all to read. It’s just not giving me an acknowledgement right after I post and it’s not registering me as the last poster in the title.
I’ve been having the same problem, and I don’t believe its a computer glitch. I think it’s on their end, since other websites seem to work fine for me (although this is the only MB I post to).
I think it’s definitely to blame for all the double-posting we’ve been seeing lately. Some double posts are several minutes apart, so clearly people are cancelling the submit, then resubmitting, even though it actually is going through. Dunno what’s causing all this, though.
All of my posts are timing out, but when I go and look at the thread, they are usually there. Also, I noticed the forum pages don’t accurately reflect the latest post to a thread - seems like there is a delay, even when I hit refresh. For example, this thread showed 0 replies, though when I clicked on the thread, it had 3 replies or so already.
This is the first thread I’ve been able to read in two days. It seems to have something to do with the number of folks on the boards. (Plus or minus 100 or so).
I haven’t checked the other forums as I’m afraid I won’t be able to get back here.
Time of day makes no difference, or maybe there’s so many members that there’s always around 100 on the boards.
