Oh, yeah, they rule. I don’t listen to that album nearly enough.
How can you not like them? Max Cavalera, Corrosion of Conformity, CATHEDRAL. Criminy. I’ve got a permanent boot print in my ass from experiencing how kick-ass they are.
Definitely high quality. And I know I’m probably not gonna make any friends cause of this, but Jack Black’s performance is one of my favorites on the album.
I must be missing something. I don’t see him in the liner notes, and I didn’t hear him on any of the songs. Which one is it?
There are two songs on track 11: King Diamond’s credited performance, and Jack Black’s uncredited one. There’s about four minutes of silence between them.
Was it him playing an instrument or singing? I have the Tenacious D album and if you like the humor involved, it’s also got some decent singing by Black in addition to some great instrumentation from others, Grohl amongst them.
Singing. I’ve only heard a little of Tenacious D, but I get the impression that he doesn’t really show off his vocal chops there.
I think Tenacious D is badassed, even though they’re funny. Kyle and Jack can both play guitar and sing. They’re as good, if not better, than most musicians out there.
No, not really. Except for some weird voices, he doesn’t show much range.
Good album though.
Just listened to it. That’s my idea of Dave Grohl’s saying, “yeah, Jack, you can be on the album,” and then hiding the track. Worst song on there, by far.
Oh, I dunno. It’s kinda catchy in a “monster-truck-rally-gunna-eat-my-nachos-with-a-big-cerverza-and-check-out-the-titty-mags” sorta way. Not sure I’d want to listen to an entire album of it, though.
That track with Lemmy kicks my ass every time I listen to it, btw.
Well, yeah, it is Lemmy after all. When doesn’t he kick your ass? Lemmy is Lemmy. \m/
Btw, if you haven’t already, check out his autobiography, White Line Fever. It’s hilarious and crazy, and he wrote it himself, so it’s a great dose of his personality.
Btw, I realize autobiography means the person wrote it themself, what I meant is that this doesn’t seem overly ghost-written and you really get a sense of Lemmy’s voice in it.
