When I was a kid my mother kept a bottle of Karo Light corn syrup for baking. It was regular corn syrup, not high fructose, and had a dash of vanilla in it. It was a perfectly fine substitute for pancake syrup.
If Steel reserve counts I’ve seen a couple of them over the years.
But most alcohol commercials now are for IPAs, Seltzers, or any of the regular “Big Brands” like Corona, Coors or Bud.
Since we’re on the subject of alcohol, I don’t think I’ve seen ads for wine coolers in ages. I assume they still make those; I didn’t really check. But I would guess they’re declining in popularity with the rise of hard seltzers, sodas, and the like.
ETA: Actually, I just found this article saying wine coolers are making a comeback, or at least Bartles & Jaymes is trying to bring them back. I still haven’t seen any ads for them, though.
I remember Bruce Willis selling those.
Back in the 70’s during the tyranny of the national speed limit there were commercials on TV for radar detectors, a device whose only real function is to help people get away with breaking the law. A bad law, but still.
I rarely watch live TV these days, but do those commercials for compilation albums by various artists (“Pure Moods”, “AM Gold” etc.) still exist? They were a mainstay of the airwaves when I was a kid, but I can’t imagine that they’ve survived the transition from CDs to digital streaming as the main way most people consume music, and it seems to me their target demographic would have aged itself out of the market by now.
