So in the Profile there’s a space to input my AIM identity, my MSN identity, my ICQ identity, and my Yahoo identity.
May I suggest that it would be modern-era appropriate to add a space for inputting one’s Skype ID?
The SDMB runs vBulletin. Unless the feature is built into vBulletin by Jelsoft (the makers of vBulletin) there is a very low chance that the SDMB would modify the vB installation to support the feature. I don’t believe vBulletin supports this feature at this time, although hacks do exist to add such support.

I’m confused as to why you would want someone to start phoning you?
Are you offering specialist services?
Just as some people wish to list their phone numbers in the directory, there are some who do not object to having their Skype ID numbers listed somewhere. It’s a tad closer to listing personal information but personal privacy is not exactly a given on the Internet.
That being said I can’t see much difference at this point.
Listing Skype is not a current option but may be an option in the future; if there was enough of a call for it we could probably put it in as another field somewhere in the profile; however, this is the first call we’ve had for it from anyone.
