I just tried to get rid of Comodo and Comodo Cloud. I was able to remove most of the programs, but cannot remove guilang.dll nor shellextension.dll. I have tried every trick that I know of, but these two always say that they are running and cannot be removed. Anyone know how I can rid my computer of these two nagging units?
Revo Uninstaller has been extremely good at getting rid of the odd bits left over after uninstalling a program. Assuming you are running Windows, you should give that a shot.
Flander: Unfortunately, Revo doesn’t work because Comodo doesn’t show there. I think that Comodo has tricked us into not allowing removal completely and kind of being invisible to removal programs.
You could always use a live CD and delete them from another OS. Can’t say if that will affect the stability of Windows, though.
CCleaner is usually pretty good at killing off leftovers like that. You might also try MBAM - Malwarebyte’s Anti Malware.
Reboot then try to delete ?
may its registered as a service. So turn off the service ?
Search the registry for those files ?
As in here …

Have tried all the above and still cannot delete the two remaining programs. They are not doing anything, but they are there and I want them removed. Well, since the do nothing, I will just wait until something comes along that will remove them. Thanks for all the advice.
Perhaps it doesn’t show because you already removed most of it? This may sound stupid, but perhaps try reinstalling Comodo, then running Revo to see if it is then listed? If so, then let Revo do its work.
Have you tried the following?
-Making sure you terminated them in the task manager and/or services.msc
-Booting into safe mode to delete them
-Using a command prompt to delete them
reboot in safe mode to command prompt then delete from there
Are you sure you tried *all *of the above?
Because the following is guaranteed to work:
If you boot from a live CD, then no files on your hard drive will be in use, because the Live CD does not use any of them. You will be able to delete any or all files on your hard drive, regardless of what Windows would normally use them for.
