I don’t know when the new week starts , because I watch it on wednesdays so I guessed.
Anyway. Very interesting episode. Chris admitted he hates Kyle and Efram. K and E know he hates them and implied they hate him to. Jeff gave a very interesting “Don’t give up because you hate those two, Erica and Shia and me have a big stake in this too” speech which worked. The best thing I’ve seen him ever do. He really does seem to be growing a bit as a production type this season as Chris began to give up on K and E.
It took about 10 times of Rick Schwarz and Chris telling them they had to do a comedy or it was going to get blown off by Miramax. Finally with 2 days left till final version I think they dropped their egos and decided to try what other people were suggesting, rather thaen their old passive-agressive bit of saying they’ll do it, then doing the exact oposite. I think the comedy angle was obvious.
The drama angle looked slightly less than afterschool special level of interesting, but the trailer is as intriguing as any teen-comedy(which for me means wait till HBO).
This was the first time I got sence of K and E as decent filmakers. If they had managed to get thier egos out of the way at the beginning, and tried to learn the craft it might have been a springboard to a decent career. But I figure after all the shit they pulled they might as well start aplying at blockbuster to beat the rush.
It was actually a fairly inspirational episode, where each main member seemed to grow and learn, Too little too late I think though, and unfortunately probably the end of Project greenlight forever, unless they did manage to do a miracle editing job and pull out a hit.
P.S. What is with the editor? he didn’t appear to do anything, but sit on his ass, and let K and E go down in flames for the first 3 weeks of post. He did not come off positively in Greenlight at all.
