Project Runway 10/22

Starting a thread because there wasn’t one; no content in this post to avoid mouseover spoilers.

I am NOT satisfied with the auf this week; Nicholas might have been a bitchy little girl, but either Christopher or Logan should’ve been out, not Nicholas. Both of those two have lasted FAR longer than their talent.

I’m not thrilled by Irina winning another challenge, but she DID make three decent, well-made pieces that fit the inspiration.

At least the season is finally getting interesting…

Really! Logan committed the worst possible sin. He made CLOTHES!

Have we become this jaded? Really? I know it isn’t the best season, but still…it’s Project Runway.

So, I loved Milla Jovovich. Best guest judge ever, or at least in a while. They should make her permanent.

Loved Carol Hannah’s dress. Beautiful, simple, classic, and …wearable.

I swear I looked for this thread before I opened mine. Sorry. I notified a mod to close mine.

Loved Milla Josovich. I think they should make her permanent. She even got away with making fun of Heidi.

It was interesting to me, that they made the accusation of “it’s just clothes.” In the past, the most dread accusation was that something was “wearable.” Of course, they also condemned designs for being “unwearable” which left a sort of question mark in my head. But at least, now it’s clear that by “wearable” they mean it’s “just clothes, it’s not fashion.”

How is basically copying a dress seen everywhere creating fashion? (Carol Hannah). The print, the style… I could go to Dillards at the mall and see that right now.

The fact that Christopher was not aufed is ridiculous. And I like the weepy little guy. Project Runway made me feel sorry for Nicholas. I can’t believe it…

Carol Hannah’s dress looked like Uli made it.

Christopher must have some scandalous photos of Michael Kors, or Heidi K. I just don’t understand. They’re barely holding my interest this season.

I didn’t care for the winner. It looked like Linda Evans would have worn it on Dallas to me. One of the judges mentioned the 80s but they said it in a more positive way than I would’ve. Of course if you could see what I’m wearing you’d realize quickly I am in no position to remark on fashion. “Don’t know much…but I know what I like!”

It did look like Linda Evans! I have to give her props for how well-made it was. She is still a smug bitch, though.

Didn’t find PR that interesting this week, but I was really sorry to see Celine go from the Models show. She was funny and cute and goofy. You could tell all the other girls really like her.

(question for anyone else who watched the Models show: Did Koji say she would be glad to get back to see her “husbands”?)

Didn’t catch that, though she does have at least one husband and a small child.

Nic deserved to be aufed, what is up with the trousers? He really should have channeled his inner greek goddess on that one. And how come we had to miss his tantrum/breakdown?

Christopher’s was pretty, but barbie dollish. He should have kept the skirt long, maybe a wrap with a flowy tunic or something.

Irina is the Iron woman, and she correctly observed that the competition wastes too much time and is beginning to crack from the pressure.

I love that Gordana has come from behind I hope she gets to duke it out against Irina in the finals.

This is my first season watching PR, I must rent the back episodes.

The talent level just isn’t there this season. Each week it feels like they are all students fulfilling an assignment, rather than designers expressing a vision. And I think the show has been hurt by inconsistent judging in Michael and Nina’s absences, which I presume stems from the move to LA.

Once again, Heidi singled out Gordana when she did a good job! She never does that with the other winners/top 3-ers!

Was that the Palm Beach long jungle print dress? I thought the same thing–I can see that at TJMaxx! The braiding did not make it that interesting.

Yep. Blech. I swear the fashion in past years was much much more interesting. Maybe there was a dearth of really talented designers that tried out for the show since it was unclear what was going to happen. I’m crossing my fingers that next year will be better…

Me too. The earlier seasons just felt so much more fun. There were a lot of truly crazy fun outfits (Austin Scarlet’s corn husk Gristedes one, his insane wedding dress thing, Mychael Knight’s hot Pam Grier look). And even the bad ones were at least memorable. Lederhosen lingerie anyone? Now when they’re bad it’s just…zzzzz.
