Project Runway starts tonight. Anyone watching?

I’m not. I say that every season and every season I get suckered in. I hated last season with a bunch of no-talent designers and I am sworn off. Plus RuPaul’s All Start Drag Race is tonight which is waaaaay more important.

You might explain what you are talking about–as I’m sure many here have never heard of it.

Then they’re probably not watching and won’t be commenting in the thread.

peedin, I won’t be watching because I don’t have cable and it’s all a bit cutthroat for me. I liked The Great British Sewing Bee, though. It’s amateur sewers though.

I’m in. I have no shame.

Hah - same. I’m mostly in it for glimpses of Swatch, but…

I love Project Runway, think it’s a great show that showcases very talented people, and have never gotten all of the nastiness and snark that surrounds it.

I will definitely be watching, but will be avoiding any online discussion of the show, at least until after the finale, because it will all just be mean-spirited bitching.

PastTense - *Project Runway *is an American reality show in which aspiring designers compete to design clothing and win a chance to participate in a show at New York fashion week. Season 15 starts tonight on the Lifetime cable network. You should watch it, it’s great.

It says right in the title what the thread is about - Project Runway.

So it’s a show about building an airport? :smack:

It would be improved with more of Swatch and less of the bitchy.

I will be watching. I can’t help myself

Will definitely watch, even though I wish like crazy Michael Kors would come back permanently as a judge. This compilation clipof his descriptions of the contestants’ runway looks makes me laugh so much, because he’s hilarious but also somehow comes up with exactly the right way to describe some of the worst ones. In many cases I felt bad for the contestant, but also was saying “So accurate!” He’s definitely my favorite judge, though I also like the dreaded Nina.

That said, you are very correct about RPDR being way more important! With this second All Star season I’ve gotten into a pattern of having a Friday night watch party with some friends. We’ve all told everyone we know NOT to spoil since the show airs on Thursday. Mostly nobody has so far! I love the twist this season. Well, the one we’ve seen so far. Can’t wait to see what the other twist is, which seems it’ll involve one of the girls coming back “for their REVENGE!!” Or maybe more than one? Can’t wait to see!

Exactly.

If you want to see how it’s done, look at the fine example here.

As for Project Runway, we’ve watched every season. My wife is excited by the new season, but i admit that i’ll watch it more out of habit than anything else. The designers are less interesting each year, and while i have no problem with Zac Posen, it’s just not the same without Michael Kors.

I didn’t understand the love for Dexter’s piece. I believe that contestants should be immediately disqualified if they show a circle skirt – it shows no creativity at all and it usually a last-ditch attempt at something.

I initally loved Roberi’s piece and assumed it was a shoo-in for the win but I can see the criticism as well.

Also I am glad they aufed who they did rather than keep him around just for the drama factor. Putting up a wall when talking to Tim is not the way to go!

I confess I DVRed the episode and watched bits and pieces of Road to the Runway. I wish TLo still recapped.

The Kors clip left out my favorite line “that crotch is insane” from Season 3. It did include avocado goiter…

The contestant who left was my least favorite. As was his dress. “I don’t do” this or that is a sure sign to me that the person shouldn’t be on PR. The whole point is to do things you don’t do.

He COULD do it, he just chooses not to. It’s not that he couldn’t! OK, prove it.

I watched. I never watch the first part where they choose the designers because I don’t care all that much about them. I watch for the clothes, not the drama.

I liked Roberi’s dress the best.

Hopefully this season won’t be a snooze fest like the last few seasons.

I stopped watching PR after its first couple of seasons on Lifetime. IMO it’s never recaptured the snarky drama-hungry captivating glory it had on Bravo, even with the original lineup intact.

Then again I’ve stopped watching most reality TV anyway.

TLo no longer recaps?!? In many ways that made watching it worthwhile :frowning:

TLo stopped recapping with the last AllStars. I don’t blame them. However, they do talk about the episodes in their Friday podcast.

Tim Gunn said this season is good, after being very vocal about hating last season. So, I’ll take him at his word (even though I probably would watch either way

I will say that i was quite impressed with the overall quality of the designs and the construction skills in the first challenge. If they keep that up, then it could be a good season.
