My hope: Christian will win because his talent deserves it, but he’ll get drunk at the after-party and piss off Donatella Versace, who will in a coke fueled feat of superstrength twirl him around by that funky back-left hair thing and toss him into Isaac Mizrahi who will, along with Rami, be revealed as a high level Mossad agent and, thinking Christian’s a terrorist, Krav Maga his little arrogant ass alphabetically from the Armani Pavilion through the Vera Wang Tent. But he’ll recover in time for his spread.

I like the cut of your jib, sir.
That little Christian is an annoying bitch, but his work is undeniably good. I would also like to see him get beyond the poofy jacket, narrow pants thing, but he’s done some other stuff.
Jillian has slowly grown on me. I think she’s a real person, rather than a reality TV caricature. When her model opened the jacket, I was almost blinded by the gold flash. I didn’t particularly care for her outfit, but I can understand why she got through.
Rami, Rami, Rami. When he was given the Ancient Greek statues, I thought he’d give us the best, most exciting, most wonderful, most breathtaking draped dress that the world had ever seen A drape for the ages. Something that would immediately be installed in the Metropolitan sculpture garden. Instead, what do we get, a bra with curtains (with its strap hanging down).
I was glad that Chris nearly knocked Rami off (and may still). Cavalli loved his dress, and the others only dinged him because he’d used the swoopy shoulder before (and he’s not really a repeater like Christian and Rami). I liked that he finished, and took a nap, and didn’t give in to Tim’s call to “panic, panic, panic.”
Since they always have four contestants prepare collections before Fashion Week (one as a decoy, except last year), the idea of a collection-off makes sense. I can’t wait to see what to do, particularly to see if and how Rami breaks out of his drapery rut.
Unfortunately, my sweet, sweet Sweet P had to go as she wasn’t at the same level as the others for the parameters of this competition. I liked that they all agreed that she made wearable, commercial clothes. I hope that that translates to success in the long term. I was hoping that she’d sneak in if the judges nailed Rami for over-draping and thought Chris was too costumey, but quite properly that didn’t happen.
My inner train wreck-watcher is disappointed that there wasn’t more Draaamah, but this year’s designers were much more competent and professional than in prior years. The generally seemed to like and respect each other. Also, there seemed to be an absence of cocktail parties with the designers and special guests, and of course no major international trips. With the off weeks and the double elimination at the end, this season seemed a bit shorter and flatter than the others.
