I missed last week and never managed to catch the reruns even. So I’m not going to miss tonight! It is tonight, isn’t it?
Oh boy howdy, it sure is!!
8pm EST for #107 and 9pm EST for the new episode #108 - The Uniform Challenge
Pop the corn and get out the tea cozies!
It’s hard to believe, that he is only 23.
I’m back at school sans cable so I can no longer watch my darling Austin have meltdowns on TV. Last eppie I saw was the wedding dress one…loved Jay’s wedding dress, though Kara Saun made a pretty dress but it was way too much like an Oscars gown. However, I am still making my parents Nielsen it…I think that defies the purpose but if my father is sitting in the room humming Lata Mangeshkar ditties as he plays with the cats it’s not really lying.
I just started watching this show after the wedding dress episode and I am so hooked.
This is easily the best reality show I’ve seen in a long time. No wasting time with alliances or voting people out or phoney challenges. All that matters is talent plain and simple.
I really hope they keep this one around for a few years. And I hope that either Kara, Jay or Austin wins. Kara is versitale, clever and cool headed under pressure. Jay is very original without being over the top and his comments are hilarious. Austin is charming even if a bit too theatrical.
After reading Wendy’s websites I like her designs there a lot more but I think she’s simply out of her league on this show.

Wow! I didn’t think any of the final outfits was all that great. I wonder if maybe the designers are starting to get a bit tired from the competition.
Interesting note: from the previews of next week, they are having guest technical advisors. On the Bravo boards most people are sure they will be the other designers who are out. Maybe my eyes have deceived me but I swear I saw Nina Garcia helping one of the designers at Mood.
Kara’s outfit was definitely my favorite, and I wasn’t at all surprised that she won the challenge.
I loved that Austin got to play the model! I was worried that Jay wouldn’t have one, and had never considered that one of the other contestants would be able to do it, but Austin was pretty good, and looked comfortable doing it. He DOES have the same figure as some of those female models!
I liked Jay’s outfit, too, though it was a bit butch. Austin’s was fun, but not really appropriate.
I wanted them to get rid of Wendy, just because I don’t like her. However, I wasn’t surprised they got rid of Robert. Though I think they liked his design just slightly better than Wendy’s (at least it wasn’t as dowdy), they got rid of him because he’s had consistently underwhelming designs.
I’d be interested to see Wendy in the final three, but I don’t want to get rid of Jay, Kara, or Austin, so we’ll see.
Couldn’t have happened to a better guy. Bye bye wannabe Lothario.
Don’t you just love Tim’s Take on the website?
Poor Jay, second place again. But if you place every time you might still win on points. Kara just gets better and better. Does Austin have a second career to fall back on?
Yeah, duh!! Modeling!! Nobody else in the world has cheeks like that!!
I run to the computer on Thursday mornings to get Tim’s Take!
I thought it was incredibly kind of Tim to take Wendy aside and try to help her get past the judges’ main objection to her work. I am saddened that she couldn’t accept his help (but she did change the shoes!)
P.S. - Runway marathon Feb. 13!
Oh, and while I’m thinking about it, Episode 10 is not the end. The grand finale is from the New York Fashion Week show and will show on Wednesday, Feb. 23 as episode 11.
Also - hooray for Robert’s butt!!
Wendy just wouldn’t listen. Her design looked more off the rack from Target than Nora’s wedding dress did. She really is lucky Robert’s was so awful and he had a track record of missing the mark. At least she has a win and a couple of good designs going for her. But I don’t think it will save her in the long run. It’s going to come down to Kara and Jay. Those two really do stand above the others.
If you have at least $200 and are going to be in NYC this Friday there is an auction for tickets to the Runway taping:
Why, oh why can’t there be a 3-way tie for first place? I don’t want to see any of them lose–Kara Saun, Jay or Austin. I’m feeling the Jay-love a little more every week. His one-liners this episode just absolutely killed me “Maybe there’s babies in there and we’ll have to raise them til they’re 18” and about Kara Saun, “She could finish her design and still outfit an entire family of 7 with a curtain and then make a movie about it”, and of course telling Wendy Pepper that she was “like a cockroach”. Tee-hee!
This is the best reality show in a long time, hands down. It doesn’t even have any real competition. Winning on genuine talent, what a concept!
I’m really curious as to who marked on the picture of Wendy’s daughter. That is pretty awful. I even felt sorry for her for a minute there.
The Prime Suspects:
Kara Saun - no way. She’s way too professional and mature.
Jay - highly unlikely. He’s too good-natured to do something vindictive like that.
Austin - unlikely. He’s very sensitive and I can’t see him taking negative feelings out on a picture of Wendy’s young daughter. However, he does have a fairly intense personality and he doesn’t like Wendy, especially since the ‘team’ challenge where she criticized his leadership skills to the judges.
Robert - possible, but not probable. He’s a goofball and I could see him doing it thinking it was funny and then feeling bad about it later. But he was so easy-going and did not really make an enemy of anyone, so I doubt it was him.
Kevin - certainly no love lost between him and Wendy. Could he have done it on his way out after being eliminated last week? He always seemed a little shifty and just a tad creepy to me. I don’t really think he would do something like that, but you never can tell.
Morgan - the model from Hell. At the beginning of last week’s challenge when the designers were picking their models, Wendy had to make the last choice and she chose Melissa over Morgan. I could definitely picture Morgan doing something childish like this. My money’s on her.
Or maybe someone just left the door unlocked and it could have been any random person. I wonder if she ever found out who did it.
I think Wendy did it herself, or either someone from Bravo did it, creating drama. If neither of those are right, Kevin is my next suspect. He was in there writing notes and such to the other designers after his vote-off. He had a pen and the opportunity, so… I’m jus’ sayin’…
Robert’s tushie! Woot!
Jay’s best comment was last week when he said “This project sucks my asshole inside out!”
Oh how I have been dying to use that one myself! Just wait…
Cruella must go!
Was it absolutely intentional?
I didn’t look very closely (admittedly)… but the flash I got made it look like it could have been the type of thing that happens when people are drawing straight lines with straight edges on a workstation.
She got snubbed on the runway last night - everyone else left with a nod or handshake or at least an acknowledgement to all of the other competitors and then just whooshed by her.
Good question but I would think Kevin would be the only designer suspect because of his passive-aggressive attitude toward women. I would tend to look at the models because of the totally self-absorbed way some of them live. Some of them I have known (the younger ones) wouldn’t think twice about defacing something if they had a pen in their hand. Just because they had a pen in their hand.
Mostly I think Wendy went overboard because she was feeling guilty about the comments she made about Kevin and the alienation she was feeling from the remaining people. YMMV
I highly doubt any of the other designers drew on the Wendy’s picture of her daughter, though Kevin would be the most likely.
I think either one of the models did it, possible Morgan. When Morgan was eliminated, was Wendy the last designer to pick her model?
It’s also possible it was an accident, b/c it looked like it was drawn w/ a ruler. Someone drawing a mustache on a pic out of meanness would probably draw something that looked more like a mustache than a straight line. I wonder if we’ll ever find out who did it?
It might be a little easier to believe that he’s 26. Which he is, according to people who went to high school with him.
