Project Runway starts again tonight!

Jeremy’s auffing is baffling to me for this exact reason. Did I love his design? Not particularly. But does it look like something you’d find in Belk? Absolutely, no question. He met the challenge’s requirements just fine, and he shouldn’t have gone home.

I’m glad to see Dom get a win, and I agree that her second dress was much better, but did anyone else like her first one too? It would have been better with a shorter skirt, but I liked the colors and the sleeves.

I thought Bradon’s skirt was weird, especially those panels (or whatever they were) in the front.

It’s ridiculous that Alexandria wasn’t in the bottom. I thought she was clearly the one that deserved to go. The top of the dress is especially badly made.

Yeah. Admittedly I’m not the target audience, but I don’t have the beginnings of an understanding of drop crotch anything; they all look like there’s been an accident either in the factory or the bowels.

This week on Project Runway it’s a Glamorous Grandma challenge with special guest Betty White!

Isn’t it ironic that the first week that Jeremy won’t be there is the “Madame” challenge?

Word is that he was there at Fashion Week and then had another hissy fit and refused to show his collection at the last minute.

His outfit is exactly what you will find at Belk. To a tee. I’ve been shopping at Belk my whole life. They carry Alfred Dunner - grandma-iest of grandma brands.

Thank you for the info – I had never heard of Belk before this season and wasn’t sure what it was about.

These colors look familiar.

Oh so true. I had no idea what the hell was going on there.

I have to repeat that Frau Gyno-Fashion line a few dozen times or two.

I think he’s a sexist jerk with a short temper who can’t any criticism. I would not want to work with the guy or buy his clothing.

Finally watched this last night.

It was pretty sad how everybody just folded up and died when they were confronted with the prospect of “the modern Southern woman.” Lawzy Miss Scahlett! I don’t know nuthin’ about sewin’ no garments!

I don’t know anything about how women in the South dress, but it just didn’t seem like a complicated design brief to me. I would have just made any daytime look I felt like making, as long as it wasn’t too warm, had a feminine flair, and wasn’t black or a really dull color.* Dom’s second dress is a good example of what I mean.

I liked the idea of doing a “modern interpretation of a shirt-dress” for this challenge, but I wasn’t crazy about Bradon’s actual design. The top was better than the bottom. I also don’t find plaid objectionable in any way, but another shirting material might have come off better.

No idea how Ken wasn’t auf’d for that bizarro purple monstrosity that he turned his “beautifully cut nightgown” into. I was glad to see Jeremy go, however. I was sick of his smarmy ass.

 • I know southern women do wear these, but they wouldn’t have been right for this challenge.

Some padding to keep the spoilers hidden from preview in case you haven’t seen the show yet…

Should be enough space by now, no? Let’s hope so…

AT LAST!
Ding dong, the bitch is dead!

And more seriously,
Alexander survived by some sort of pure luck or divine intervention. To even think of tailoring a suit in two days? The lad must be feverish from over plucking those eyebrows. But I had no idea what the hell he sent down the runway other than some sort of a hot mess of a halfway started suit.

Oh, and throwing the iron was a wee bit aggressive on his part.
Thank goodness the pissy bitch is gone. I was so glad to see Tim call him on his anger problem. I think he has probably hurt his career quite badly.

I liked Helen’s dress, but I loved Joshua’s. So creative.

If by “divine intervention” you mean Ken making himself too much of a problem to keep around, then I agree.

All-in-all, though, I thought this was one of the more successful “real woman model” challenges they’ve had. The top three (Helen, Joshua, and Braden) were all very good, and so was Kate’s.

Finally the queen bitch is gone.

I loved how even *Tim *seemed glad to see him go! When Tim walked into the room at the end, all he said to Ken was, “You’re happy? Good. I need to send you to the workroom to clean up your space.” No hugs, no tears, no goodbye wishes.

Yeah, I was pretty pissed that Ken got almost the entire brunt of disapproval from everybody. Tim did point out that Alexander’s behavior was inexcusable, but I was fully on Ken’s side. Alexander was a bitchy little snatch from the second he opened that door.

What baffled me, and I admit that sometimes the details can derail me, was why Ken was so carefully ironing a pair of worn looking cut-off jeans when Alexander was trying to open the door.

Do people really iron cut-offs? Just fashion designers?

Ken’s a jerk and I’m glad to see him go. If this really were reality television everyone else would have said so as well.

I would have picked Justin’s look for the win. I thought it was adorable. I also thought Alexander’s was worse than Ken but it was clear that everyone finally wanted him gone. He needs to work out his issues with a psychiatrist rather than a television camera.

Ken was wrong not to get out of the way when Alexander and Bradon were coming in. Alexander was wrong to knock the iron and ironing board over. I don’t blame Ken for getting angre, but his reaction was way OTT. Tim was right to call him out over anger management issues. he’s been a seething powder keg the entire season.

I gasped in horror when I saw Dom’s dress and jacket. What a mess. She should have gone home for that, but her body of work in total has been decent. Kens’ wasn’t bad enough to send him home, but I agree that he was auffed for his behavior. Justin wuz robbed. His dress was classy and he respected his superfan’s request for modesty and he even made a corset for her to show off her new figure. And look! He put in sleeves, which is a rare event. I do not see why Helen’s dress won. I can’t think of single place I (or any other normal woman) would wear a satin gown. I don’t think the stay-at-home, work-from-home attorney has many opportunities to wear this “red carpet” dress. I think Helen is being set up for an epic fall.

I wonder how a devout Mormon (so devout it influences her fashion decisions) reconciles being a superfan of the reality show with more gay men per capita than the Garland-Minnelli family tree.

Do you think it’s like the Village People back in the 70s?

It just sails over their heads or they just pretend it doesn’t exist
