Now here, in contrast, is some actual news about actual prominent conservatives turning on Trump:
The [New York Post --TF] editorial, in a tabloid owned by Murdoch since 1976, began: “As his followers stormed the Capitol, calling for his vice-president to be hanged, President Donald Trump sat in his private dining room, watching TV, doing nothing. For three hours, seven minutes.”
Trump’s only focus, the Post said, was to block the peaceful transfer of power.
“As a matter of principle, as a matter of character, Trump has proven himself unworthy to be this country’s chief executive again.”
The Wall Street Journal, another Murdoch paper, issued a similar critique in which it said evidence before the House January 6 committee was a reminder that “Trump betrayed his supporters”.
This is a start but until Fox News denounces him along with their primetime toadies like Tucker Carlson and Hannity it isn’t nearly enough.
Seriously. Even the con man was watching Faux on the 6th.
Of course, Republican congresspeople could give it a go, but they refuse to do so. (save two.) Take it back to their states and districts, and speak the honest truth to those that they represent. But, being Republicans, they never will.
The 6th will happen again before Republicans actually speak the truth.
I believe their plan is that the 6th will happen again, only this time they will “win”, and there will be no more pesky elections. Their goal is no longer to win elections by convincing the majority of voters that they have the best platform and policies. They gave up on this quite some time ago.
The goal now is to take over all aspects of government, eliminate any opposition, and take over complete control so the minority rules the majority by force. They see themselves being the “top of the heap” in this new order, and are quite looking forward to it.
Certainly. And when I said that the 6th would happen again before Republicans speak the truth, there was an implied “happen again repeatedly”.
And if the con man and his cronies are shown to be above the law, well then forget the whole thing.

No disrespect toward Mr. Roddenberry intended; the fact that Trump and what he has turned the GOP into is verging on creating an Orwellian future IS intended.
