I just made some rank (Airman to A1C). Yay! Bigger paycheck! No more puny little single-stripe! Severe arm-punching to me tomorrow!
In honor of this occaison, I’m making an offer to one of you Guests out there. All you have to do is give me a reason, and I’ll pay your way into the wonderful world of Charter Membership.
What do I mean, “give me a reason”? Just do anything! State some great accomplishment in the War On Ignorance that you’ve made, make me laugh, send me a picture or a scanned drawing of something that you did (or even just a picture of yourself), it doesn’t matter. Anything will do, so long as it’s all you.
On the 15th, I’ll decide who did the greatest thing, announce the winner (or not, winner’s preference), and pony up the subscription money.
I came to America on a freaking old boat! Nope not a plane! And I was poor, but I received a free ride to a state university, and picked A&M because my uncle lives here! Yep, I was picked from a list of 6,000 to come to America and become a success! Because they think I’m smart(only half true), I did it! True story, but a bit embellished(to be fair it was a nice passenger ship).
This is one of many fictional airplanes I’ve done over the years. This one (so the story goes) was invented, designed, and built by a character who’s a combination of Howard Hughes, Indiana Jones and Bob Hoover (in the fictional setting he lives in he is the inventor of the gas-turbine aircraft engine). The prototype was powered by a turbocharged radial engineuntil the gas turbine powerplant could be built.
This is a shrunk-down scan of an otherwise largish file. The original drawing was done on 8½ x 11 graph paper with a 0.5mm Pentel pencil, some drafter’s triangles and some french curves my nephew sent me last year.

PS: If ya want me to send a scan of the original (blue lines and everything – what you see there’s shrunk down somewhat) you’ll have to send me an email first. Since I’m not subscribed I can’t check yer profile to send anything.
Kid_A: Linux and Microsoft Word docs don’t mix. Please try again in .txt format. Granted, I was able to read a bunch of it with less, but it was fugly.
SSgtBaloo won with his lovely rendering of an airplane. I’ll pay off his membership later tonight after I’m done in town. Congrats, and thanks to everybody I mean, BOTH of you who entered.
