Promotional site for 'Death to Smoochy'

Apparently, “Death to Smoochy” is a movie starring Robin Williams as a TV clown who gets fired and replaced by a big lumbering purple something-or-other. The movie looks fairly awful, but this site is absolutely brilliant. I relish the idea of the studio paying some web designer big bucks to build a site that could barely pass muster in Angelfire’s “goth” section. Crank up the volume for the MIDIs - they’re the best part. “Die, you illegitimate Teletubby! Die, you Muppet from Hell!”

actually I think from the talent involved, the movie looks pretty funny. Danny Devito is nothing if not a really good director of DAAAARK comedies: Throw Momma From the train, War of the Roses, Ruthless People, etc…

Huh? Wow, I didn’t know that. The preview I saw made it look pretty awful, imho.

It’ll either be one of the best movies ever made or unwatchably bad. Either way, I’m gonna go see it.

This is one of those movies that I can’t wait to arrive so it can begin the “going away” process. I’ve stopped going to RottenTomatoes for a bit because I’m sick of all the stupid pop-up ads for this movie that are running there, particularly the ones that steal the focus from the browser.

Then again, I’d skip the second coming of christ if it involved Robin Williams.

Robin Williams is the host of a top TV show for children, until he’s replaced by a talking rhino played by Edward Norton. Rainbow Smiley (Williams), having lost his way of life, is driven over the edge and decides to take revenge on his replacement in hope of getting his show back.

No doubt that this movie will be attracting people who have had enough of Barney, the Teletubbies, et al.

Saw it and laughed until I cried.

Posted my review, such as it is, in this thread.
