Prussian Blue on Primetime Live

Wow…no thread on Thursday night’s Primetime Live segment on Prussian Blue? Am I the only one who saw this? I first heard about these girls on this board; I thought there would be a thread by now.

Prussian Blue (for those not up to speed) are a singing duo comprised of 13 year old blond female twins (they frequently get compared to the Olsen Twins…which the OT’s doubtless do not encourage). They are, in addition to all of this cuteness-potential, white supremacists, and use their music to propogate their philosophy.

I don’t want to link directly, but prussianblue-dot-net will get you there if you want to type it in.

Their names are Lynx and Lamb Gaede, and someone who posts (or used to post) here knew them at some point, and linked to their current website in a state of shock (note-my impression).

The segment was disturbing, to say the least, but I have a hard time blaming the girls for all this, since they have been indoctrinated since birth to believe in all the racist, white-power crap. They were interviewed, and certainly don’t see anything wrong with their beliefs, since they have been so thoroughly saturated with them.

I’m mostly at a loss to say anything about this, so I’m posting this in Cafe Society as a media event. GD wouldn’t be a bad place to move it, if people wish. There are certainly many issues to be hashed out.

Mostly, I was surprised that there didn’t seem to be a thread on this.

A few points made on the show that I hope might make their way into the girls’ brains: they were scheduled to play a county fair recently, but people protested their racist message, and they were cancelled due to their beliefs. There was also a segment where they were preparing a care package for Hurricane Katrina victims (a good thing, I think, and they are to be commended for that), but they also (in accordance with their beliefs) stipulated that the aid should only go to white families.

They were wholeheartedly rejected, by blacks and whites alike. The segment reported that their care package ended up in a stand that sold racist memorabilia. If that doesn’t tell them something, I don’t know what will. Unfortunately, it may not.

I really feel bad for these girls, because they’re being shamelessly exploited to spread a message of hate, and they don’t even have the contex to realize it. It just makes me sad.

The date of the show was Oct. 20, 2005, and you can buy transcripts here: http://www.transcripts.tv/primetime-live.cfm This just makes me so sad.

Damn.

Sorry for the second post, but digging around, I found what seems to be a free version of the transcript, complete with pictures.

Third post (that’s it, I’m getting offline for the night): Not a transcript, but a synopsis.

Bleah, I’m going to bed.

The Gaede Bunch
Neo-Nazi stage mom April Gaede and her singing twins are poised for stardom, of a sort

i turned it on about 9:15, so saw the last 15 minutes of it. I was aghast, at how they could say those things they said. of course it’s the parents fault, or the moms since she was speing it too. But they’re at the age where they should start questioning it, so the next few years…13-20 is when they should hopefully come to their senses.

‘I don’t hardly think there were even 6 million jews alive back then.’ the only one i can really remember. And that video game was just so wrong.

Notice at the end when they moved, they didn’t say where to. bakersfield wasn’t white enough. I guess there’s a whole little world out there with people like that though.

ok, I meant “her mom was **spewing ** it too.”

I didn’t see the show, and couldn’t find any mention of a video game in the linked ABCnews article. Can you describe the video game?

The fact that there are creepy neo-nazis out there is well known. Why Primetime Live felt it incumbent upon themselves to give these weirdos a forum is baffling. Oh, wait, no it isn’t: exploitation, sensationalism, and ratings.

During the previous PB discussion here (I think it was in the Pit), I checked some white supremacy sites which discussed them & apparently their Mum has a reputation as being quiet free & easy. She was married at the time but her critics in the WS community didn’t seem to think that made much difference.

I am still wanting the HBO America Undercover documentary on Bill Rizzio, the middle age trailer park Fuhrer of a group of teen Skinheads. Funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

What I find a bit odd is that they are frequently compared the Olsen Twins. Did the OT gain a lot of popularity from their music? I didn’t even know they had albums outs until I did an Amazon search (although I would have bet they did). Am I incorrect that the OT primarily gained popularity from their movies?

I also saw the end of the broadcast. My first reaction was to be horrified that these adorable girls could achieve enormous popularity and spread their (or their Mom’s) message subtly. The thing that comforted me was that the music wasn’t actually good and was far from subtle. It sounded like what you’d expect 12 or 13 year olds to come up with on their own. I don’r see this as a situation where kids will hear a song that’s catchy, rush out to buy their album and listen to it repeatedly without consciously noting the White Power message. This music won’t appeal to anyone who doesn’t already subscribe to those beliefs.

I agree with Larry Borgia.

It was extremely inappropriate for ABC officials to give those poor brainwashed girls any public airway time at all.

I hope at least one of them finally comes to her senses and horrifies her evil mother by marrying a person of a different race.

They just showed the game for a moment. Just like a normal video game, kinda. You have to shoot people, they run across your screen, hiding behind boxes etc… but with this one, you have to only shoot people of different color (non-whites) if I recall.
I think the interviewer asked them if they thought it was wrong. I think they said they saw nothing wrong with it.

And of the same sex.

I third that. What could possibly be the justification aside from “using our viewers’ revulsion to glue them to the screen?” Ick.

A white-supremacist record company put out a first-person shooter called Ethnic Cleansing, in which you kill Blacks, Jews, and other “unsavories.” They got a lot of flak for it. I don’t know if this is the game in question, but it did get a lot of media coverage.

And I dissent.

I’m not saying “using our viewers’ revulsion to glue them to the screen” was not Abc’s motivation. It probably was. But I can still come up with other justifications.

Mainly…they exist. They are popular (in their own world). That kind of racisim is still out there. And they make a pretty good example of it. And that it’s not just going to wither and die just because it’s a bad idea.

And if we don’t want to be ignorant don’t we need to know that?

IIRC, this was the game that was shown.

I’m wondering if they’re even capable of that, though. Normally, you’d expect a lot of questioning from that age bracket, but their upbringing doesn’t seem normal. They’ve been indoctrinated with this dreck since birth (as has their mother, evidently). I had different ideas (religion, etc.)presented to me growing up, but they were merely presented, and thus I was able to question them as I got older. These two have been browbeaten 24/7 with this since they were born. I’m not sure if they’re even capable of questioning it anymore. They truly see nothing wrong with it, and I’m not sure if they’ll ever be able to.

But they have BEAUTIFUL plumage!

Oh, wait a minute … that’s the Norwegian Blue. Oops.

Until I read the ABC article that mentioned the OT music, I wasn’t aware that they sang. These little girls look nothing like them (but they seem to look a lot like Skye McCole Bartusiak from pictures I’ve seen of the twins) so it’s probably a combination of OT sang and the fact that they’re twin girls. It’s sad that the embracement of evil can come in such innocent looking packages. :frowning:
