I did so as a final act in the performance of my agreed function in the event. I was neutral, and trusted by both parties to oversee the exchange of funds, and the fulfillment of the conditions. I later accepted the evolved function of facilitating the end of the agreement.

I would not like people to think that either party simply reneged. So, I posted here.

I am continuing to monitor the thread, and will respond to questions not involving private information.

There’s a difference between letting it go and joining the current chorus of “Kumbaya.” It is worth pointing out that for at least some of us, the current round of hugs and kisses doesn’t change a damn thing. It was a black eye for the boards and for all the posters involved, and it can’t be smooched better, it can only be mercifully forgotten (again). If that’s some problem of mine, so be it; I do judge people based on their past history. AFIACT some people change their hearts more frequently than they change their underwear. It’s only “for the better” if it’s permanent, you know.

I was aware that this day was gonna come, albeit 8 months early…but you didn’t? :dubious: But the real surprise was that they came back with their guns holstered which is better than I anticipated. Gotta give credit where it’s due.

Exactly. I’ve thought about resuming posting for the past few months, ever since **Liberal ** proposed it to me, but didn’t care to stir up my fellow Dopers with the resulting and inevitable Pit threads. I decided this weekend to ask **Tris ** and **Liberal ** to do me the favor of stating pre-emptively their support for my resumption, and they kindly complied.

And thank you, too, Tris, for subjecting yourself to criticism that otherwise would have come my way. You’re the last person who deserves a Pitting over this–blessed are the peace-makers.
