Pub Trivia in Seattle 2006: Electric Boogaloo

Interrobang!? got the date wrong. The Old Pequliar’s quiz is always on Tuesday. And I’m hosting this Tuesday, the 23rd.

What?

You seem to be calendar challenged. Tuesday is the 22nd on my calendar.

Your calendar is boring.

So are my clocks, but I’m rarely late, or early, for that matter. :stuck_out_tongue:

My calendar doesn’t have Tuesdays on it at all. Y’all are lucky I manage even to show up regularly. Or unlucky, as may be.

I’ll be there tomorrow, but I may be late. I’ve been trying to get together with a friend for a few weeks now, and tomorrow at 7 may be the only time that works.

On the plus side, if I’m late, I will bring cupcakes with me.

I’ll be there. Assuming we’ll have a new face or two (I hope the date confusion didn’t ruin that chance), I’ll try to be there early-ish (say about 6:00 or 6:30).

I’ll have a sign to make our table easy to find and a book to read until the rest of you show up at 7:55.

Is today Tuesday? Dawn’s in trouble and it must be time for trivia.

TONIGHT, the 38th of August, I break your brains.

Lady Cheek is not feeling well and as such, will not be attending tonight’s soiree. I, on the other hand, am feeling fine. But depending on how well she feels, I may or may not make it tonight. If I do show, it’ll be somewhat late, as I’ll be fighting 520 traffic.

I’m having transportation issues - so, it’s a giant maybe. But I’ll try.

I’ll be there, and I can guarantee that I’ll be there before the contest starts. Cause the man who thinks he’s smarter than us is driving me in his aut-o-mobile.

We’re not in. Good luck guys! And I hope to meet Corporate Hippie sometime soon after his move.

Crap with a capital C. Yeah, sure, no surprise to you guys, but I can’t make it. But me, I planned for this since getting shafted by my co-worker last week! I was dressed, had my sneakers on, ready to get going, my husband was going to take me for a little drive first then drop me off and it happens - a phone call. My husband’s best friend (and my good friend, started out by default but he turned out to be a great guy) just broke up with his long-time girlfriend. Damnit. I really liked her, too. Of course, I wasn’t the one in a relationship with her, so what say do I have?
Looks like we’ve got some shoulder-to-cry on duty tonight. Take him out and let him talk. Poor guy. :frowning:

Corporate Hippie, nice to meet you & friend.

Interrobang!?, excellent quiz. (For the record, our two teams finished second and…fourth?)

stargazer, damn fine cupcakes.

Fifth, I think. There was a tiebreaker for third at the end which means another team wound up in fourth. I remember this because the fourth-place team was represented by a friend of mine I haven’t seen in a while who will apparently now be showing up regularly.

One of our teams was in the mid-game tiebreaker for the pitcher.

And yes, stargazer, very nice cupcakes. The frosting-topped pastries were also excellent.

She’s a married woman, stop commenting on her cupcakes!

Aw, thanks, guys! :stuck_out_tongue:

There are just too many ways to go with that. Shock? Mock-embarrassment? Mae-West-style encouragement? I can’t decide!

stargazer, I’m sorry I commented on your cupcakes to the entire room of 100+ people. That was inappropriate.

The scores and some random info from last night’s quiz are now available online.

Hey guys, just wanted to say my buddy and I had a blast at trivia night! We might have to start attending on a semi-regular to regular basis once we’ve got our roots firmly planted in Seattle soil. Thanks for the thoughtful and tasty treat, stargazer (sans innuendo) and for the warm welcome from everyone!
