Pub Trivia in Seattle 2006: Electric Boogaloo

Ooo! OOo! Quiz near my house! I’m in!

It starts at 8:30(ish), right? I will try to be there, but I have a lot to do before we leave on Thursday morning, so I may not make it.

I’m in. 8:30?

8:30ish should work. They’re kind of haphazard with their start time.

I should be there by 8, though there’s one member of the household who needs some help taking a bath, so I could be a bit later.

I’ll get there early, watch football, and reserve a table.

And I don’t appreciate that my lack of bathing skills is made public…oh, you were talking about the baby. Nevermind. =P

Checking in from New York. How’d it go?

We are now 3 for 3 at Kate’s – which was packed, fielding 12 teams. inkysplotchy, amarinth, and I took home $20 each. At least one regular team from the OP was there, and they were kind of disappointed to see me.

News from there: this was their last quiz for the year, and indeed until Jan. 8. And then they’re going to turn on the speakers in the back room for quiz night. Given that it takes like 45 minutes for Billy to wrap up the quiz, what with all the hints, etc., I’m not sure how I feel about that, but it’s good to know tables will be more available.

I will never again forget that Green Bay lost the Super Bowl in 1998. Twitch. Twitch.

Is it good or bad that other Trivia people look sad when we show up?

Good job! Sorry I couldn’t make it, but that way you all got to take home more money.

Given our experience with Husker Don’t, I think it’s a good thing that they look sad when we arrive (well, it’s gratifying for us, at least), as long as we don’t show up every week. That would just be mean.

I would be open to trying the quiz at either Mulleady’s (right down the street from me!) or at the Hopvine, next time we try a new place. Hopvine’s got good food!

I’d be up for either, really. According to their site, Hopvine has trivia the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, so it would take some coordination. But I hear good things.

Mulleady’s isn’t listed on Quiznight.net – you should ping 'em with details. On second thought, I will. What’s the scoop?

Hello, Happy Holidays, and is anyone other than me mum and I doing Trivia tonight? Husker Dont will be there, all sleepy from Turkey and pie, while I have been doing mental exercises akin to Rocky running up the steps in Philly. They are Clubber Lang, we are Rocky.

Well, seeing as I don’t get back from “sunny” California until late tomorrow night, I’m out for trivia this week.

Next week, I can do Monday (even though it’s New Years’) and Wednesday, but not Tuesday.

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

I’ve taken the liberty of creating the 2007 trivia thread. The name is even lamer than last year, so if anyone has something more clever, feel free to create your own and mine can sink out of sight.
