Pulykamell, you torment me so

This could be classified as non-gross TMI, but anyhoo…
About every 6 months or so, I go a little crazy.

By crazy, I mean that my brain gets looped. I think about the same things over and over again. I think the same thoughts in the same words OVER AND OVER. It’s maddening, I tell ya.

What exactly am I thinking about? Well, today, it’s Pulykamell.

Not Pulykamell, the man. (Woman? Animal?) Just the screen name.

Pulykamell.

Pulykamell.

Every few minutes, the name comes into my head. Pulykamell. Pooly camel.
Oh, I wish I could make it stop, I do. But there it goes again.
So, Pulykamell, how are you? What does your screen name mean? How do you pronounce it? What advice do you have to give me, if any?

Am I the only one who gets brain loops like this? (Heh - now you may call it having obsessive and intrusive thoughts, but I prefer using the nice, non-scary “brain loop” terminology.) Surely not, I would think. Anyone? :frowning:

Periodically I fnord go through times in my fnord life where fnord I see the fnord word fnord everyfnordwhere, but no one fnord else does.

Fnord.

Ah, lno , paranoid conspiracy-mongering would be a welcome relief at this point. Thanks for playing, though.

Well, I don’t do that on a regular basis, but a while ago I found myself saying “Rowrbazzle!” a lot. I didn’t realize it was someone’s screen name for a while.

I’ve had Tegucigalpa (the capital of Honduras) doing verbal gymnastics in my brain several times.

“Tegucigalpa”
“?”
“Tegucigalpa”
“Stop that”
“Tegucigalpa, Tegucigalpa, Tegucigalpa, Tegucigalpa”
“Aaaaaaaaaaagh!!!”

I also occasionally have MST3K flashbacks and hear a whiny, nerdy voice yelling “ROWSDOWER!!” repeatedly.

I want my huggy-jacket…

jayjay

This, I found hysterical.

I’ve had freaky words bounce around my head for a while, but I’m hard pressed to come up with one.

Wait! I remember one, I was traumatized for awhile by bosda di’chi of Tricor’s screen name (hopefully I got that right). If my mind was blank, this would pop right in. I know it’s happened other times.

But you can add to my freakiness the fact that I sometimes “type” in my head. When I think of words or phrases, my fingers (mentally) go through the motions of how I’d type them. The fingers don’t actually move though. That would just be weird. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh my!

A whole thread dedicate to me, or rather my name, and I’ve missed it for two weeks or so!

Anyhow, to help give you peace, it’s pronounced “POOY-kaw-mell” and it means “turkey breast.” There really is no rational explanation for the name. I am indifferent to turkey breast. Nor am I Hungarian, as the name is. If you see my location, you’ll note that I do, however live there, and I guess I just kinda liked the weird look of the name. It seems to entranced you, at any rate.

As fer brain loops, I get that damn deconstuctionist thing happen sometimes, when I repeat a familiar word like "“carpet” over and over in my head until it completely loses its meaning and sounds like a foreign word.

Heck, I just “air-keyboard” type them out. It’s helped me through many a tough word - if I can’t spell it, my fingers will type it out and I just keep track of which (imaginary) keys my fingers “land” on.

I often get songs stuck in my head weeks at a time (the current one being Adam’s Song by Blink 182). I can’t imagine how it would feel to have a single word stuck… shudder

lno… fnordfnordfnordfnordfnordfnordfnord…

Upon further reflection of my various neuroses…

I’m also troubled by rowrbazzle. That word gets in my head…it’s there for weeks! Weeks, I tell ya!

You folks are getting into my head!
