Purim -- a drunk (but not Irish!) MMP

Cute kiddies, Special1!

I wish I could sleep in more, but I can never managed to stay in bed past 9, for some reason. Unless I go to bed at like 3am. Drunk.

It’s SNOWING! Jesus Christ. It’s near the end of March. This is so wrong.

Oh, did I mention Cloud Maiden is back? Only for a week - she had a job interview in the city. I’m happy for the company - I missed our random conversations about nothing much.

Room 304 seems crowded today. Maybe it’s because it’s Firday?

I would join you all in room304, but I’m late for work.
vroooom! Hi! vrooooom! Bye!

OK, I’m up–I was planning on sleeping in this morning since I didn’t get to sleep until almost 0200, but my daughter woke me with text messages from the HUGE crowd scene at the Obama rally. She says there were people who got there at midnight to make sure they got inside and apparently it’s a total madhouse–I’ve been trying to get some news on it but of course the only early morning news show is on Fox and they’ve had five segments on the upcoming beer festival and a new bakery but just one very short clip about the rally–why am I not surprised? Anyway, there are 13,000 seats in the Memorial Coliseum and tickets for the event disappeared literally in a few hours Wednesday. The Salem and Eugene venues scheduled for today are also at capacity, and I expect the Medford rally will follow suit–since Medford is solidly a red type area it’ll probably fill up with folks from Ashland.

Ooh, looks like Bill Richardson is slated to appear onstage with Obama this morning to give his official endorsement, nice! It also looks like the speech will be carried online at www.kptv.com if anyone’s interested.

Aaaand–it looks like my daughter and grandkid are in the building, yeah! They’re so excited, I wish I could be there with them…

Can I take a nap in Room 304? 'Cuz I could use it… :stuck_out_tongue:

sure, if you can sleep thru the ruckus around you…

304 isn’t for napping! You’re napping in there, you’re doing something wrong.

If you guys haven’t ventured into the Pit today, you must read this blog post:
http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2008/03/expelled.php

I LOL’d. (Or, I L’dOL, I suppose, would be correct, upon reflection.)

Or you’ve just finished…

Haze, that was funny as hell! I love it when stupid people are hoist by their own petard.

I tellya what, I could sleep through almost anything right now–except for the text storm from my daughter! My grandkid has seen five current classmates at the Obama rally and another former classmate from his elementary school, apparently a LOT of parents took their kids out of school for the morning to attend. Is that cool or what?

Pratchett is yowling in the window like a demented banshee–his playmate must be outside. Darn it, cat, knock it off–where’s my spray bottle? Grump…

Oh–weather I personally experienced yesterday: bright sun with clear skies, showers, heavy rain, hail, thunderstorm and snow. Typical first day of spring in Oregon! It only gets biblical if there’s a tornado, so we’re cool.

It’s gonna be a two coffee morning, I can tell…

me, too; only each o’mine are ginormous 44 oz’ers.

  • get it? Aleq=Alec…? :D:D

Happy Oakday!

Everyone who’s peeved at having to be at work on a holiday because all of the people with kids already snarfed up the PTO slots, raise your hand.

I had a train seat to myself this morning. Not only is it Friday Light, but it’s Holiday Weekend Light. <grumble>

rosie–ouch! That’s terrible! :wettroutsmack:

Besides, my jowls are nowhere near THAT big! yet…

well, I was thinking more vintage, 1980s, Alec (yummerific)

Well, then we have to address my whole not-having-a-penis thing, too! :smack:

:smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: (you can’t increase the size on these things, can you?)

eta
There is a Baldwin sister, tho, don;t know if she’s “in the biz” or not, but the genes are there…

Nooow my face is red. Not sunburn, blushing.
kicks ground, hands in pockets, stammers

But seriously, the park we visited was truly spectacular. I’m not religious (Sorry, mom & dad sign of the cross) but seeing natural beauty on that scale does make one wonder who put it all together. Here’s another one: Pair of arches. You can practically hear the symphony of angels hitting a chord. Please disregard the hand at the top of the shot. :smack: The scale/range is deceptive. Check the person standing in the distant RH arch.

Last day of skiing today and leaving Telluride tomorrow. I’m kinda ready to get home. I have hours of waiting in airports tomorrow and since I refuse to pay for wifi I think I’d better get something to read. Via Evite, I’ve committed to attending a bowling party near my place tomorrow night. Cheap beer, stinky bathrooms and slipping around in bad shoes? Sounds just about right for a post-travelday chillout.

I’d completely blanked that this weekend was Easter and had to email mom to find out family obligations. Turns out, it’s just going to be at their neighbors’ in the burbs so I may duck out altogether (Sorry again, mom & dad does Catholic thumb thing with forehead, lips and chest). Have a good one, all.

Thanks! (everyone else who said so, as well)

Good thing they take after their mother, then! :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, all this talk of hot action in room 304, and I’m not even part of it. You have learned well, grasshoppers! do I get to watch, at least?

You’re saying this like it’s a bad thing…

**Mousie **-- there’s only one way to explain room 304 – by experiencing it. Meet me there?
If **Haze **and **Pie **and **McUne **are all there as well, it may really be fun!!

Well, off to my sister’s place with all the family in about half an hour for the Rotating Friday Night Family Gathering. Later, gators!

Wow, Bill Richardson’s endorsement speech was AWESOME! I’m choked up! Amazing, really amazing–find this on YouTube if you can, I am just sayin’…

Mother Nature certainly does wax spectacular occasionally, doesn’t she, BigAd? Gorgeous photo, and if you hadn’t pointed out that person, I totally would have missed the scale. Amazing!

Oh, and by the way, how you doin’?

I forgot to mention earlier, Tagfree, gorgeous house and adorable kid! I truly envy you having that lovely house to spiff up and decorate. And seeing the photos, ITA that you need to lighten up the cabinets somehow. Me, I’d just paint them a warm cream, with enough yellow in it to really make it feel as if the sun has come into the room. That probably wouldn’t go to well with that beyoootiful floor, of course. Speaking of which, you are going to be replacing that floor, aren’t you? And that truly godawful counter? Why did the '60s have such a fixation with ugly orange, anyway?

Adorable kids, Special One! I don’t envy you the next few years, but they are indeed adorable! In fact, Mumpers have some of the most adorable kids going!

Speaking of which, I’ve managed to lose the link to LiLi’s blog so I can admire photos of tinyninjachef. Can someone remind me, por favor?

I’ve been trying to work today, but thus far my innards have decided to go on strike again. I am not pleased. The work, however, must be done, so I’m struggling along. I think when I finish it, i’m going to to crawl in bed.

And, since I was too out of it this morning to mention it:

Happy Birthday, snowbunny!

This feels strange - after umpty-ump years in the computer biz, I finally took the plunge and got a domain of my own. I’ve registered domains in the past for other groups, and I’ve had personal spaces with tortured addresses like http://~myname.personalsites.casf.homeusers.myisp.com but this one’s all mine.

I couldn’t resist - my ISP started offering free domain registry and free hosting earlier this week. So, once I get around to building it, www.passwordmuseum.com will take shape. I was well and truly amazed to find a combination of only two normal words available as a dot-com with all of the domain squatters out there.

So here I am, the curator of The Password Museum. I probably should build the gift shop first. I need money!

But first, I need to actually learn how to make decent web pages. Stand back! I have an old copy of Dreamweaver and I’m not afraid to use it!

There is surgery to fix that. It’s called an adadictomy. The unfortunate side effect is that you’ll lose any religion you observed pre-op. Why? Because she would be a he then…

::Looks everywhere for a barrage of wet trout::

Heh, they’re already starting to behave like teenagers! :smack:
Interestingly, their older sister (who is 15) seems to be going through her teen years fairly smoothly. I think the little guy and girl are going to make our lives a lot more… interesting, though!

Seconded
** Happy Birthday!!**

ETA: Aaaand… I’ve set somebody up for first on 11! And the winner is… ETA 2: Mousie!!! (Heh, I thought I’d probably have time :p)
