One hour, guys! Apparently we learn Olive was kidnapped as a child!
Thank you HK, I just set the DVR seeing this thread.
Apparently it is a phrase, “Pushing Daisies”.
Eh, that just leaves Itty Bitty free for Emerson. Cod and Snook Private Investigators. Yep, I like that.
Olive sang! I cringed when I realized it was a Lionel Ritchie song, but I never should have doubted her pipes. She finally confronted Ned and realized he was just using her, and he really loves Chuck! Now why is Ned jealous of Randy? Only two more episodes to resolve that!
I’m a bit confused about the murder mystery. If the assistant was the only one who knew Coco Juniper (I love these names) was still inside the store, how could it have been Dickers who killed her, since he was outside and she was killed before the window reveal? And I will add, Dickers Department Store will most certainly be sued for negligence regarding their dangerous and unsafe escalators.
It was a little odd seeing a winter episode this close to summer, but I will take all the Pie Hole yumminess I can.
Next week, Emerson’s Baby Mama!
Lightnin’s Rules:
-
Pushing Daisies should be renewed until such time as the show has run its course.
-
Olive should sing in every episode of Pushing Daisies.
I also liked how Ned embraced his inner Superman. But can’t he leave some live fruit to make his own pies? Especially since he and Olive were coming up with some new creations.
Watching it now…HOW COULD ABC HAVE CANCELLED THIS???
I said the same thing last night watching this show. Another great episode and such a shame.
Cold hard numbers, I fear.
The last Season 1 episode of Daisies aired in December of 2007 (due to the writers’ strike). After the strike was settled, they did not go back into production on Season 1, but waited to start back fresh for Season 2. As a result, 10 months passed before the next new episode, which aired in October of 2008
While the show got fairly good ratings in Season 1 (leading to it being picked up for a full season shortly before the strike, and for a second season later on), once it returned from hiatus, the ratings were substantially lower (a situation that quite a few shows faced, btw).
In addition, as I understand it, ABC doesn’t own this show. As a general rule, if a show has questionable ratings, a network is far more likely to keep it going if it owns it, and far less likely to do so if it doesn’t.
There will be more, just not on TV.
Jayjay and I are still looking forward to the last two episodes.
Just watched this week’s episode (was out last night, and DVRed it). It was like welcoming back an old friend.
And, I really enjoyed hearing Kristin sing, even if it was a Lionel Ritchie song.
Though, the ending…Ned, MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!
What I gathered is that he’s jealous not of Randy in particular, but of those who are able to touch the people they love, something he can’t do with Chuck.
That’s not what I got. He experienced a “twinge,” and it was only when he saw Olive with Randy that he realized the twinge was jealousy.
Ah, well, we’ll find out, hopefully.
Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money, and Kings are all being burned off on Saturday night this summer. And the Virtuality pilot is being burned off on July 4th!! I’m grateful that they are showing them at all though.
Loved this week’s window dressed to kill episode! Although I hope they move past the whole love triangle thing soon. I’m glad they are addressing
the detective’s missing daughter
next week given that there are very few episodes left. Can’t wait to see how they try and wrap everything up given that they couldn’t shoot extra footage for the ending.
Crap! I forgot the episode on June 6! I am not worthy of the pie.
I’ll hunt it up online and make a note to watch the Very Last One on June 13.
:smack: D’oh! Remind me too!
We’ll be DVRing the last one because we’re going to be visiting my hometown for my 20-year reunion next weekend, and my mother doesn’t like Pushing Daisies (I know! We tried to get her hooked but she couldn’t get past the narrator, and really, if you don’t like the narrator, you’re not going to “get used” to it).
That’s interesting. I like Jim Dale a lot; he does the US versions of the Harry Potter audiobooks, and I’ve found him to be very enjoyable to listen to.
I’ve got this past episode still stacked up on my DVR; as it turns out, I won’t have been able to see any of the final three episodes live, due to busy Saturday evenings.
It’s not Jim Dale, per se, that she didn’t like. It’s the whole narrator thing, period.
Dangit! Me too. Wait. I could have sworn I checked ABC at 10 and there was some sports crap on.
