I don’t see much reason for Ukraine to not counter attack and prevent Russia from getting comfortable in Ukraine lands. The supplies and money are rolling in again and Putin’s resources are getting thin.
Russian weapon reserves are getting very low. It is doubtful the people of Russia are happy with this exercise in futility.
OP, your title is misleading; but that isn’t really your fault because, wow, those are some badly written headlines.
Putin has not “called for” a ceasefire.
The headline “EXCLUSIVE: Putin wants Ukraine ceasefire” implies that he did, because if he did not, how would we know he wants this?
But reading the article, some unnamed “sources” told us that this is what Putin wants.
There has been no ceasefire offer yet. Not even close.
Putin can cease firing any time he wants. I’m sure the Ukrainians wouldn’t mind.
It would certainly make the inevitable and fully justified Ukrainian counteroffensive much easier.
