Putting a link on its own line

So, apparently if you post a link as a line by itself, it’s supposed to create a preview box. I’ve seen other Dopers doing this, but I can’t make it work. Am I missing something?

It works for YouTube but you need to click on the SHARE button / “embed” and snag THAT version of the link—not grab it from the address bar.

You don’t need to use embed. You can simply click ‘Share’ and copy the youtu.be URL.

e.g.

https://youtu.be/6CFNNldyI-0
