Q about Saul Bellow's "Seize The Day" (You need to have read it, obviously)

One of my favorite novels is Seize The Day by Saul Bellow, about a middle aged man at the end of his rope regarding work, his family, and his finances. (No, really, I don’t consider myself in that boat. Well, at least, the end-of-the-rope part.)

Anyway, at one point we’re told that Wilhelm has made 10 major mistakes in his life to reach that point, but I can only think of five: [ul]
[li]Dropped out of college to go to Hollywood[/li][li]Married the wrong woman[/li][li]Separated from her years later (sounds paradoxical, but in the context of the story not so much[/li][li]Left his job at Rojax because he was passed over for promotion[/li][li]Trusted Tamkin to invest his money[/li][/ul]

Can anyone come up with a definite list of ten? I’ve read it several times but I can’t.

Granted, some of these can be said to comprise more than one mistake, depending on how you look at it, but I still can’t come up with one. A life mistake, IMO, should be primary mistake, and not one that is merely about recovering from a mistake.

Bonus question: I haven’t read anything else by Saul Bellow. What should I read next?
