He used to annoy me, but I’ve increasingly come to like him. I don’t agree with his political views, but he’s a million miles ahead of most 14 year olds (or 18 year olds for that matter) when it comes to defending them.

Sure, sometimes it’s glaringly obvious that he hasn’t really thought them through, but he can at least offer a reasonable explanation for holding them.

Anyway, why the hell would we not want him around? We’re mostly here instead of 4chan because we were just like him at the same age. Imagine how much further ahead we’d all be if we’d been having the sort of discussions we have here when we were 14.

Well then I shall fail to meet your expectations. If you have home schooled your kids or know of others who have been home schooled without getting fucked in the social skills dept that’s great.

This is a profound idea worth remembering. I had computers and bulletin boards as an adolescent, but the potential for self-harm was reasonably contained. A few years later, every kid whose skull-plates have barely fused together has a box in his bedroom that’s a potential doorway to a lifetime of humiliation. Today, they carry the power to fuck up their lives forever around in their pockets.

Largely due to its Hindu culture, which British administration failed to fully reform. In areas where British culture has been far more strongly adopted the differences are obvioous. In addition Mexico has the benefit of being right next to the US.
