This is so bizarre it crosses over into obvious parody territory. Noam Chomsky? Really? That’s the great enemy?
Man, you had me all this time, Curtis. I really thought you were just a bright, young, misguided Korean-American kid. But this is just too left field.
OK, maybe not. You’d almost have to be in junior high to think that made sense. The mask, if it is a mask, has been so perfect that if you are faking it, you’re surely smarter than that.
So do you have some actual hate-on for America’s favorite linguist, or are you really putting us on & starting to get tired of the masquerade?
I’d guess he dislikes Noam Chomsky because people he likes dislike Noam Chomsky, and his understanding of the motives of Noam Chomsky (and, for that matter, the people who dislike him) is childish and superficial, at best.
Fake conservative. Not that I buy it; American conservatism at this point is pretty much a diagnosis instead of a political position. No position is too stupid, too irrational, or too nasty for conservatives.
Anybody who thinks highly enough of Curtis Lemay to take his name as a username is fucked in the head from the get-go. Fucking asshole nearly took us into WWIII without even blinking.
Thats not true. He’s published both papers (which still get a decent number of citations) and books in the field in the last decade. He’s actually still pretty prolific given his age and the fact that he obviously spends a lot of his time writing on politics as well.
And the First Emperor of china was also an asshole of historical proportions, he was a book burner and then followed that “nice” act by killing the scholars that wanted to preserve the past knowledge and culture.
There was a recent thread on what would one propose as the best hypothetical new ruler of America, that if we had to choose a philosopher king and one of the names that came up was Noam Chomski. That hypothetical thread was inspired for sure by the situation that Greece and Italy have now and it is likely the one that got Qin to, perhaps, lose his mask.
Personally, my choice would be like the ones made over there, in Greece they choose an economist that studied under a Nobel laureate teacher, so over here I would go one better and get a Nobel price winner: Paul Krugman.
Explained in post #14. Someone else had brought up making him Prez in an earlier thread.
Eh, he’s a linguist and a well known liberal political theorist. I imagine Qin was concerned more about the latter aspect then worried about having an advocate of Universal Grammar in the White House.
