No Hindu-Indian (Christian and Muslim Indians also maintain the caste system) culture is inferior because of its caste system and other practices.
Probably industrializing India much more which would naturally have weakened the caste system bond, making caste discrimnation illegal, and land reform.
Well in fairness in India itself the Hindu caste system is pretty insidious and far more deeply observed than other systems that get the name ‘caste’. Though it should be pointed out that there have been some considerable successes with regard to reform.
However Qin, you omit that the Sikhs and Buddhists also busted out of the caste system. You also omit the efforts of indigenous Indian religions, in particular Hindus, to reform the system. I strongly doubt that the British, being non-native occupiers, would have had any more success than the Hindu reformers working from within.
For the love of cupcakes, Qin, you can get your hands on tons of information because of broadband internet and learn from other people instead of just spouting off what you’ve basically memorized. You can interact with people and not be just an annoying schmuck or that awkward kid.
It seems to me that you don’t learn much from other posters here, from their replies to your threads. You don’t appreciate what others have to offer based on their life experience.
I don’t know why you do it like that. What I do know is that I would have killed somebody for this kind of access and information when i was 15 as well as the chance to interact with people from most of the English speaking world and you’re fucking pissing it away. THAT is what I see.
Maybe somebody else sees something different, but i don’t know.
A few years ago I knew a British West Indian who was livid when his application to join The National Front, (an extreme right wing, racist political party) was turned down .
He wanted to join because he hated Indians and Pakistanis.
Its illegal now to refuse party membership on grounds of race.
The funny thing that I noticed in the older generation of skinheads from personal experience was the frequency they did a full 180 on their beliefs. Much as they claimed to be devoted to the cause™ I think they just felt the need to belong to something. I knew a lot of straight-edge SHARPS (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice) that I’d run into a year later drunk and stoned off their asses wearing swastikas still sporting the same Doc Martins and shaven head and vice-versa.
IME no, but they used to team up with Skins to go “Paki bashing”, and shared clubs and music.
As to the group **DISSONANCE **referred to, SHARPSI have never ever in the U.K. come across genuine ex skins of whatever age being actively anti racist, NOT EVER, though I will Google them.
I have over the years come across more then a few of the extreme left who aped Skin head style, but weren’t actually into soccer hooliganism, reggae, two tone and the whole biz.
