I was just reading that vaccine thread and holy cow, that’s a perfect example of the sort of high dudgeon Quartz loves to fly into. He poses a question, EVERYONE IN THE THREAD points out that the question as written is unclear, and rather than simply elaborating like a normal person he throws multiple snits about how everyone is trying to read too much into the question.
He may not be an anti-vaxxer but if he didn’t post that OP with a view to it being some sort of ‘gotcha’ question (which was not achieved) then the only other explanation is that he really doesn’t understand basic human communication.

BTW, when it was pointed out that giving the child a vaccination against the orders of the parents was probably illegal, you moved the goalposts out-of-state by posting that it didn’t matter because all the lawyers were on strike. Classy move. :rolleyes:

This thread is driving me crazy. I don’t even know why I find it so frustrating. I wanted to have a civil conversation about an interesting topic, but it can’t move forward because he won’t define the fucking term and accuses me of having an agenda. I don’t generally set up rhetorical traps.

At a guess I suspect he was expecting everyone to jump on him and go “AHA YOU’RE AN ANTIVAXXER” and then he would whip out his vaccine-supporting credentials thus proving (to himself, at least) that he’s the real hero here and everyone else is just persecuting him. But he managed to step on his own dick and fall flat on his face.

I believe that Quartz is living nearly as far north as you can in the UK, but he is most certainly English.
