Queen reunites. New lead singer: The guy from Bad Company

Heavens crumble, seas boil, film at 11.

In the words of Morpheus…“This is going to feel…a little weird.”

Honestly, though, why didn’t anybody call George Michael? The guy has proven he can pull off a Queen song (“Somebody to Love” from a few years back) with aplomb. I just don’t get it. He’s a much better replacement on paper, no?

Oh dear god

<falling to knees, looking skyward, time slowing>
Noooooooooooooooooo…

“The Earth will shake,
in two will break,
and death all around
will be your dowery.”

Well I don’t know anything anout Paul Rodgers, so I’d have to hear what they sound like. I agree that it is strange George Michael didn’t join up with Queen, both George and Queen’s careers have been at a low recently.

Ever heard Bad Company? That’s him. He’s got a half-octave range at best, which actually isn’t bad for the type of bluesy music he normally sings. But Queen is right out of his league. What on earth were they thinking???

Oh, wait. This is purely a money grab. How silly of me. :smack:

Maybe they’ll be releasing all new material written to accomadate Rodgers’ voice.
Maybe his voice has matured since he hit sixty years old.
Maybe they never heard anything he ever sang, and are confusing him with someone who looks like him.

The possibilities are endless, but I think the result isn’t going to change.

Plus he has that gay thing going for him. I don’t think Paul Rodgers could pull of any of Freddie’s better outfits.
