Question about the default posts per page setting.

I like having my posts per page as high as it can go. The max, it seems, on here, is forty.

That’s great. It’s really nice and puts a lot of posts on each page and cuts down on multiple pages.

However, I couldn’t help but notice that when I’m logged out, each topic (with multiple pages) has even LESS pages. Confused, I checked out the posts per page that a person sees by default when one is logged out (or not signed in) and found it to be fifty.

So my question is, if it’s possible to have fifty posts per page when I’m logged out, isn’t it possible to have it when I’m logged in? Or would I always have to stay logged out to have the coveted (at least by me) fifty per page?

ETA: And also, why is it like how it is? Why isn’t the “not logged in” default fifty and not forty? Or is that just something that comes with the board? : p

I’m always logged in, and I’ve never fiddled with that setting, and it’s always 50 for me. Maybe you just missed an option?

50 is the default. Dunno why you’re seeing 40.

Take that back, I went and looked at the User Control Panel – your options there are Default - 5 - 10 - 20 - 30 - 40 posts per page

And the default is 50. You just set it manually to the highest number you could find. Default is your friend here.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, okay. That makes sense now. Usually, on other boards, the “Defualt” PPP is a measely fifteen or twenty posts, or the lowest possible number, so I had just assumed the default here was the same. Thanks for answering the question.
