Question about Xan Suspension

Why only 2 weeks? The guy deliberately broke a pit rule, admitted it, and then told a mod to fuck off when called on it. I’ve seen other people recently get 30 days for considerably less than that. This just doesn’t seem fair.

Note: I am not knocking Gfactor at all here. There is no doubt a suspension was warranted…hell, the guy practically begged for it. I just do not understand how Xan gets off so light for deliberate misconduct when other people got more time for what appears from the outside to be less severe misconduct.

Agreed.

I saw the “two weeks” part and started thinking really hard at what could get someone only two weeks. Perhaps a cooling off period but nothing else came to mind.

Then I read his post and wondered why it wasn’t far longer.

Xan had no previous write-ups. So, while we couldn’t ignore his refusal to follow instructions, we felt two weeks was sufficient.

Huh. So I guess even if we stick a fake nose and Witch hat on him, you won’t let us burn him?

The important question is, Is he made of wood?

Actually, the important question is does he weigh the same as a duck. All else follows.

Get with the program! We don’t burn Witches anymore.

Sorry. Couldn’t resist.

Help, Help, I’m being repressed!

Gee! Even Giles Corey was only pressed once!

polite clap

Brava, madam! Brava!

Said Mr. Miller, author-itively.

snerk Don’t get me started on the Proctor-ologists…

Good one, Oakminster.

Poor John. The guy just reached the end of his rope…

Back at ya, Juliana

Not yet. We’ll see how he behaves after his suspension.

In the meantime, can I interest you in burning a spammer or two? You may have your choice of either SDMB spammers or some from my own personal email box. I will require you to put their heads on stakes afterwards, as a Warning To Others, of course.

Never works, and it just draws the crows. <sigh>

Burning spammers? Hmmm…that would be a chemical fire, wouldn’t it? All those preservatives, might have to get some kind of permit from the EPA. Also, I claim at least half of the heads on stakes to decorate my driveway. That ought to cut down on local missionary visits…

Hey! Can I help? That sounds like a good idea.

Yeah, I know what I said above. But anything to prevent door-to-door stuff is okay by me, so I might make an exception…

I love a challenge. Where do you live?

Regards,
Shodan

I seem to recall from reading about the Tower of London that you are supposed to dip the heads in pitch (I think that’s the stuff - I’m not near my torture references at the moment) so that they stay intact for a long time.

You’d often hear the tower wardens asking each other “Oh say does that char mangled spammer yet wave?”
