Pretty much all of them. It’s the “manly” drinks I don’t like.
Bud Light Lime
When you are sweating your butt off at a tailgate, it really is refreshing.
Pour 80ml Pimms No.1 into a large wine glass. Take 3 strawberries and halve them. Procure a small lime from somewhere. Cut a cross section and halve it. Do the same with a lemon. And an orange. And an apple. Add fruit to glass. Squeeze some lime, lemon and orange juice from what’s left of the fruit. Add to glass. Allow to stand for 30 minutes while Pimms soaks into fruit.
Add ice cube and 115ml lemonade to glass. Stir. Add freshly cut sprig of mint.
Drink.
Mmmmm. I love White Russians, aka Caucasians. I use soy milk. Mmmmmm.
Ernest Hemingway was a fan of mojitos. There is nothing girly about Hemingway.
Sometimes I make sure the glass is clean before I pour my bourbon into it.
That sounds awesome.
Does that mix together? I’ve tried soy milk in coffee and it just gets all beady and looks disgusting.
I have never thought of margaritas as girly (aside from it’s being a girl’s name). They’re very popular here and I have never felt uncomfortable ordering one (frozen, with salt, please).
I also have never thought of a Long Island Iced Tea as girly. However, one could order for a girl, if one were, well, perhaps considering attempting to get her inebriated for further activities later.
Not that I condone taking advantage of an incapacitated person.
Really.
What kind? I use soymilk in my coffee all the time and it blends right in, no curdling or anything.
I can’t hold my alcohol. I’m that guy who’s slurring words and falling over after two glasses of wine. :o
But when I DO drink, it’s sweet sugary stuff. Things that taste like candy.
Also, I kind of have a crush on whomever it was that posted the link to the Kids In The Hall sketch. Thank you. I was going to link to it myself and it totally made my night to come in and see the job had already been done.
I’ve used that and it’s been fine. Usually I use the Trader Joe’s brand, also fine. Huh.
Weird. I guess I’ll give it another try.
Not to mention daiquiris, though not the frozen kind.
But to be fair, Hemingway would have drank anything with alcohol in it.
Margaritas are girly only when frozen. On the rocks, its a gender-neutral drink, especially if it’s mixed to a more “classic” recipe. (I generally go 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, 1 part lime juice.)
It’s been a long time since I had one, but the Carribean cruise introduced me to Bushwhackers. They recommended that if you had one at a bar, that you get the second one in a plastic cup and go find a taxi back to the boat before you go too far into it, otherwise, you’d be left behind.
Equal parts rum, vodka, Baily’s, kahlua, amoretto, Chococo (chocalate liquer), Coco Lopez (cream of coconut), Frangelico, blend with ice
After many years of soy milk in my coffee, I’ve found that the stronger the coffee, the more likely the soy milk is to up and curdle. Adding more soy milk fixes the problem but probably makes the coffee milkier than you prefer. My normal strength coffee is fine, but if I happen to overload the coffee machine, bam, curdle city. Doesn’t affect the taste, just looks gross.
Mixes nicely. I use vanilla soy milk (blue carton, I dunno the brand). In fact, last night, in honor of this thread, I had one. OK, I had three. I don’t see what the big deal is.
