Where should I begin?

Are you going to tell the story of how great a love can be?

You mean the sweet love story that is older than the sea?

Or the the simple truth about the love she brings to me?

Right, where do I start?

Might I suggest thinking about when she gave new meaning to this empty world of yours?

You mean like there’d never be another love, another time?

Well, did she come into your life and make the living fine?

You mean like she filled my heart?

Sure, but isn’t the whole thing pointless unless you’re moved to sing about it?

You mean like that prince in Monty Python and the Holy Grail who kept trying to break into song when he was forced to marry, much to his father the king’s annoyance?

Was the father annoyed because the prince was being forced to marry, or because he kept trying to sing?

Wouldn’t it be because the father didn’t want him to sing?

Or was it not so much the singing itself, but that the father didn’t want his son to be the kind of person who typically breaks into song?

Is THIS the place where you expect people to observe such distinctions?

Isn’t it? Don’t we split hairs like that quite often?

Does that make us all barbers?

Don’t barbers cut hair, as opposed to split hair?

Wouldn’t there necessarily be some splitting involved?

Would that be the case if all the hairs were cut at an angle perpendicular to the scissors?
