Quick, fill-in MMP

I was awakened by another bizarro dream and a full bladder, plus my right hand was numb because of the way I was lying on it. I tried to go back to sleep, but Brandy came to visit, and it was after 5, so I’m conditioned to be up anyway.

I left **FCD ** all snuggly and warm, and I came in here to do my morning computer surfing - reading the Dope and the funnies. When my fambly wakes up, we’ve got to go to the boat to check it out, plus the kid hasn’t seen in yet. Then we will need to make a convenience center run, since I don’t want garbage left in the garage while we’re gone. Followed by some laundry, tidying, and packing, so we can get on the road in the wee hours tomorrow.

swampy, I love the bass - I will have to share it.

So, what are the chances that I-95 will be clear, dry, and accident-free tomorrow??

All of I-95 or just the stretch you have to drive on?

For the first: about the same of, say, Catherine the Great coming to visit you on Boxing Day. The original I mean, not someone who goes by such a username Og-knows-where.

For the second: let’s just leave it at null. I’ve lived less than 600yds from that thing in two different states, I’m afraid I know what I speak of.

Well, a huge chunk of I-95, from just north of Richmond to Daytona, where we’ll hop on to I-4… I’ve driven that chunk more times than I can count, the absolute worst being the Sunday after Thanksgiving (and I did that twice!!)

What I’m really hoping is that lots of folks decided to leave today to go where they will, so the traffic will be lighter tomorrow. Not much chance of that, tho, is there? Oh well, there will be 3 of us to share the driving, so that’ll help.

It is still raining–and we lost power twice last noc. What is up with that? Off to work, at least I am not actively dripping anymore. :stuck_out_tongue:

Enjoy your Friday, all.

Glad to have a drip-free rigs. Hope everyone else is getting better. I’m up and not feeling too bad. Need to do a little bit of clean-up, get laundry finished up, pack, write cards, and get a couple of items done for work. Oh, and go out and get a couple of items.

Gotta go get some coffee and then get moving. Hope everyone’s having a nice, low-stress day…

GT

Household’s still asleep. I want breakfast, but I know if I eat something, they’ll wake up and want to go out. Can’t win…

I looked at the weather radar - there’s a buttload of precip headed our way. Which reminds me - I need to water my plants. I really need to make a to-do list for today.

First on the list - wake the slug-a-beds and get them moving, dagnabbit! I’m a morning person in a house full of nightowls!

I made an executive decision after I got out of the shower. What? All great execs think in the shower. I decided to not go to work! That’s right. I’m being a sloth. It’s icky, rainy and yucky out and I don’t wanna go, so I’m not. I feel so decadent.

no, tho I’m sorry you feel that way. I think the whole thing is good, but until I watched 6.7 I wanted nothing to do with it. Alls I’m sayin’ is watch that one then go back and give the rest of it a fighting chance

I am so envious. I arrived 23 minutes early this morning, thanks to the lack of traffic. I considered sitting in my car and reading, but it’s cold today, and I might as well get paid for every minute I can. I have been here ten minutes, and in that time, I have started up my computer, checked my e-mail, checked the orders that came in last night, imported the orders, released the orders, answered two phone calls, and finished everything else I had to do.

It’s going to be a very long day. But hey, somebody remembered to put the birthday banner in my cube, so that’s something. And there’s a party at noon.

I still think it gets good during season 2. I should post a thread about my conversion. There are a couple of worth-watching episode in season 1, but not a whole lot.
Morning. I have to run down to Chinatown to get ‘pretty little paper boxes’ for Quasi-Daughter to stick cookies in. We’ve promised to go to Mass with a friend, so I’ve got to get down and back before noon.

gt Thanks for the advice. That’s what I was looking for.

FCM I don’t know what the weather is going to be like on that stretch of road, but you can be pretty sure that the traffic will be heavy around Richmond. Unless you leave at 3 o’clock in the morning.

[SIZE4][CLOR=REd]Happy Birthday, Drae!!!

Crap. Bobbio left the Coding Gremlin with me.

I really meant to say Happy Birthday, Drae!!!

Excellent decision!

Myself, I’m waiting for a guy coming to work on the furnace…all that routine maintenance stuff. Then I’m going in until about Noon. NO LATER.

That ought to get me a good solid 2 hours or so of work today.

Ah…the doorbell. later kids!

**:HAPPY HOLIDAY FRIDAY!:
'''''''''''''''''''''''**

Wee! I don’t expect too much work to be done today since we’ll be taking off around noon for the luncheon, so it’s almost like the holiday has already partially started. MindWife went and bought me a new shirt and some nice jeans. I feel a bit ostentatious in my new shirt, what with it being all burgundy satin with silvery buttons. This crappy photo with a mysterious green line through it taken moments ago shows a smile on my face that belies the vague feeling that my apparel is too shiny. But at least it’s festive! And I got my hair buzzed last night while at the mall in a last minute bid with MindWife to get our Christmas shopping finished once and for all. (Except for a few Christmas cards and one gift certificate for the Mandarin which is near my work and that I have to pick up tonight for her father, we did)

Plus, one of our sales reps is walking around right now in a full suit topped with a Santa hat, so I’m in good company at least.

I got about three hours sleep last night due to Mr. SCL’s snoring, and now I’m running caffine through an IV to try to wake up and get ready for the road trip. I most likely won’t be home before 5am or so tomorrow morning. So, before I forget:

Happy Birthday, Drae!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DRAE!
Now - we’re the same age again, right?

You’re a guy??? WTF? How did that happen?
wanders off, shaking head

Eh? What are you – OH MY GOD! My pills! I forgot to take my pills! I nee–

Ah … oh. Wait. I’m supposed to look like that. Except for the green line, which I take to be psychic interference. Jebus cripes! Don’t scare me like that. Mika! For a second there I thought I was going to have to buy a bra.

whew

Oh, and while I’m here I should add HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DRAE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DRAE!
